Career & Technical Education Students are Breaking Traditions

The Missouri Breaking Traditions contest, sponsored by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), the Missouri Center for Career Education (MCCE) and the MCCE Career Education Coordinators, has announced this year’s outstanding students in
nontraditional career and technical education programs.

Breaking Traditions honors outstanding students who have chosen specific career and technical programs based on their interests and abilities, and who have not let their gender influence their career decisions.

Those honored include Andrea Vaccaro in Computer Maintenance Technology, Morgan Jenkins in Diesel Technology and Ashley Curttright in Law Enforcement/Crime Scene Investigation in the Missouri Breaking Traditions contest for being chosen as Honorable Mention recipients in the secondary female category for the Greater Kansas City area.

Curttright is a senior at North Kansas City High School.
