"I ___ You Then You Know!"

Heeeehuuuu.

Was working at Barclays Open Singapore @ Sentosa today! Carried umbrella & walk around. Love doing events (only those with pay )!(: Tomorrow will be another day there(: & I'm gonna take more more more more photos! Al lot of angmohs there leh, I like!

----

Anyway, I got my bill for the Operation which I went for in Sept. Total amount for the whole procedure + hospitalization+ consumables, injections etc etc = $10,189.43. However, the government gives a grant of $995.97, thus the amount payable is only $9837.00 or so.

In my opinion, I feel that even though this op may be costly, It is necessary. So if you've got sweaty palms, just like i did, whether minor or not, GO FOR THE OP! I'll explain......

Even though there may be some would may say that sweaty palms is a minor issue & it wouldn't affect your life etc etc.... I'M TELLING YOU, IT DOES AFFECT YOU!

These were some of the stuff I experienced during my sweaty palms days:
(fyi: my wasn't those jialat sweaty palms cases, but still....)

1) OVERSENSITIVITY
This occurs especially when taking public transport. You know the poles which you hold on to in buses/ trains? When I had sweaty palms, I hated holding on to the poles cos It would sometimes leave watermarks. & even though no one may be looking, I'll never fail to feel as if someone is looking at my palms. This is called, OVERSENSITIVE.

2)INABILITY TO DO SOME NORMAL STUFF.
Some basic stuff like sewing was considered impossible for me. Remember the material that needles are made off? Yeah it sucks, cos after sewing, my needle always turns rusty! feels kinda urghhhh.

3) HATE HATE HATE PAPERS.
I remember that I hated exam papers because sweaty palms+ nervousness = WET EXAM SCRIPT WHICH MAY SOMETIMES HAVE HOLES. the idea of your paper drenched and tearing apart, not too nice eh?

4) HOW TO EVER HANDLE STEERING WHEEL?
Can you imagine, as you're about to turn right at the junction, you just can't grip cos the steering wheel is too slippery!?!? Crashhhhh, goes your car!

5) HANDSHAKES?? ermmmm, no thanks!
I never never liked shaking hands with people unless my hands were dry at the point of time. IDK why, perhaps it had gotta do with my pride issues!

OKAYOKAY, SO YOU SEE, ALL THESE REASONS ARE ENOUGH TO PERSUADE ONE TO UNDERGO THE OP!
& to clarify, after the op, you're hand will be completely dry, COMPLETELY. However, as the body still needs to lose heat from your overly sensitive body, the water will be loss through areas like the back(most common) etc....

As for my case, It mostly went to my back. It sucks, but its far better than sweaty palms because I'll only perspire on the back IF I'M UNDER THE SUN OR FEELING V V V V WARM.
At least its more controllable.

SO YEAH, ENOUGH SAID.
IF YOU'RE CONSIDERING TO GET THE OP DONE, GO FOR IT!
& its best to choose a specialist to get it done for you! Perfection&Safety is more important than the money cost!

Welcome to my Nightmare!

For Halloween!

Welcome to My Nightmare is a concept album by Alice Cooper, released in 1975. This was Alice Cooper's first solo album (all previous Alice Cooper releases were band efforts). The cover artwork was created by Drew Struzan. Rolling Stone would later rank it as one of the "Top 100 Album Covers Of All Time"

Welcome to My Nightmare is a concept album. The songs, heard in sequence, form a journey through the nightmares of a child named Steven.

Steven appears for the first time on the concept album Welcome To My Nightmare. The listener understands that Steven is/or has the mind of a young boy, maybe around 8 years old. The album is a journey through Steven's mind, which is severely damaged. He lives in a constant nightmare and we are guided through this nightmare, by The Curator (played by Vincent Price). In the first song on the album, the title track, we are introduced to the nightmare. On the second song, “Devils Food”, Steven is trapped in a spider's web and is about to be eaten by The Black Widow. The spider and the web (and the whole nightmare) are only in his mind, some sort of mental disease, so Steven thinks he has to obey The Black Widow, to get away alive. Steven says:

“These words he speaks are true. We're all humanary stew, if we don't pledge allegiance to… The Black Widow”

The next song on the album is called "Some Folks," and reading between the lines, one can understand that the song is about how Steven enjoys killing women and possibly doing things to their dead bodies;

“Some folks love to see red/ Some folks never talk about it/ Some folks crave a blue lady/ Some folks know and still they doubt it.”

And then we learn of Steven’s abuse of his wife. The song “Only Women Bleed” tells us this. We once again learn of Steven’s lust for the dead, in the song “Cold Ethyl” where it’s clear that Steven is doing things to a woman’s (Ethyl’s) corpse. The next thing that is revealed to the listener is of Steven’s childhood and how he became the psycho killer we now know. In “Years Ago” we understand that Steven was alone as a child, and maybe that he feels rejected by friends and adults. The song “Steven” shows his transformation from an innocent child to a murderer.

“I don't want to feel you die, but if that's the way that God has planned you/ I'll put pennies on your eyes and it will go away, see?/ You've only lived a minute of your life/ I must be dreaming, please stop screaming”

Obviously some one has died. Maybe it’s Steven’s young mother, maybe his baby brother or, most likely, it’s the young Steven – the innocent. In the end of the previous song, “Years Ago” we hear the child-Steven talking to himself, as an old man:

“ - I'm a little boy (young Steven) - No, I'm a great big man (old man Steven) - No, let's be a little boy. For a little while longer. Maybe an hour? (young Steven) - No, Steven. We have to go back now (old man Steven) “

These lines support the theory that it is in fact the young Steven – Steven’s childhood and innocence – that has died. So who is he telling to stop screaming (“I must be dreaming, please stop screaming”)? It could be Steven who is screaming, because he is grief-stricken that his childhood has died. And he is in fact, pleading with himself to stop screaming. Another interpretation of this could be that it’s again, the child Steven, that is screaming – the childhood’s death-rattle. There is also a third possibility that it is the Curator that is screaming. The refrain to the song “Steven” goes like this:

“Steven!/ Steven! I hear my name! Steven! Is someone calling me? I hear my name! Steven! That icy breath it whispers screams of pain!”

The voice that chants “Steven! Steven!” is probably his wife, as he is killing her. This means that Steven could be beseeching her to stop screaming. After we have taken part of Steven’s transformation, he wakes up. Until now, we are unsure if the nightmare is a real nightmare (just a bad dream) or in fact part of Steven’s mental disease. But in the song “The Awakening” we understand that during the nightmare, Steven has killed his wife.

“Getting up from my easy chair looking for my wife/ Following a trail of crimson spots that lead into the night/ Suddenly I realize/ I see it all through real eyes/ These crimson spots are dripping from my hand/ And, ooh, it makes me feel like a man”

From this we can draw the conclusion that the nightmare occurred when Steven was sleepwalking but not knowing what was real or what was his imagination, he abused his wife during “Only Women Bleed”, did things to her corpse during “Cold Ethyl” and then sat down in his easy chair, “waking up” and at first thinking that everything was a bad dream. But then he realizes what he has done. As a result of this he escapes into drinking alcohol, which takes place in "Escape":

“Escape/ I get out when I can/ Escape/ Anytime I can/ Let’s all escape/ I'm crying in my beer/ C'mon let's escape/ Just get me out of here”

Welcome to My Nightmare inspired the Alice Cooper: The Nightmare TV special and a worldwide concert tour in 1975, and the Welcome To My Nightmare concert film in 1976.

This is rock and roll macabre, at it's finest!

Special Post: 1 Week Till Fun Fun Fun Fest!SPOTLIGHT ON MELT BANANA!

I'm working on this whole Fun Fun Fun Fest Preview Post and plan to have it up by tomorrow, in addition to a ticket giveaway and such, but I just decided that Melt Banana deserve their own post.

This is a photo, or series of photos I took at Walter's On Washington a few years back in Houston.

Melt Banana are a band from Japan, they were championed by John Peel who once declared them his favorite band. Whether or not that has anything to do with me declaring them my favorite band of all time is irrelevant, cuz they are and it's very real. If I am in love with a band in this world, it is Melt Banana, and I will forever stay faithful.

No one does it the way they do it. It's Super Rock way past 11, and cannot be stopped. Peep the videos below, some live, one official, and some made by fans. And then do some Googling or whatever, and watch more videos, and listen to more songs and maybe go out and buy some albums and pray that one day they make a 2XL t-shirt so that I can wear it and let everybody know, just what the fuck I am talking about.

Melt Banana plays Fun Fun Fun Fest at Waterloo Park Saturday Nov. 7th at 5:15 p.m. on the Black Stage. Then on Monday Nov. 9th at Walter's on Washington in Houston. And yeah, I plan to make that trek to Houston. I feel as though, I have to. I must. They are in my state. Also probably be the last time I get to go to Walter's before they close and Washington Ave is renamed Douche Bag Lane.

This is and has been their official website for ages. http://www1.parkcity.ne.jp/mltbanan - yes I agree, they need to step their net game up just a tad.

Anyhoo, this first video is the greatest song ever written.

Melt Banana - Shield for your eyes, A Beast in the Well On Your Hand

Follow along with the lyrics:

A shield for your eyes,
a beast in the well on your hand

Catch the man beast
In the well in the hell on the back
Watch out! You've got no shield
Break up! He's got no peace
Breath deep
in the shade in the fade of the luck
Watch out! You've got no light!
No pure cell can live

Shoot the first head
Shoot the first hand
Press the "Greed".
Get the pale shield for your eyes
Shoot the third eye
Shoot the third line
Press the "Blood".
Watch out for the beam
Shoot the first head
Shoot the last tail
Press the "Risk".
Get the hale shield for your eyes
I just need to hit to kick the dead eye
Press the next eye

I can get so...
Liquid eye, Sticky eye, Tricky eye
How to fake to steal?
Your heart's got cracked!

Get the new toy, it's falling in 50 parts
Break Up! You've got no paste
Throw out! It's biting your fate like a bait like a sweet dust
You've got no hand
and no pure cell can cross

Shoot the first head
Shoot the first hand
Press the "Greed".
Get the pale shield for your eyes
Shoot the third eye
Shoot the third line
Press the "Blood".
Watch out for the beam
Shoot the first head
Shoot the last tail
Press the "Risk".
Get the hale shield for your eyes
I just hate to say to pay the dead eye
Press the next light

I can get so...
Liquid eye, Sticky eye
Tricky eye, Flashy eye
How to fake?
How to make 50 times
more eyes to get cracked?
Your hearts got plastic

Catch the man beast
in the well on your hand on your left
Wake up! You've got no fist
Look up! No peace will be seen
in your hand in the shade of your mind
Watch out! You've got no right
Your pure cell can't spark

I can get so...
Liquid eye. Sticky eye.
Tricky eye
Where to fake?
Where to make?
One step more to get my shot

Final Month for E-mail Delivery of North News

November is the last month for North News to be delivered directly to subscribers e-mail inboxes. Beginning with the Dec. 6 issue, the newsletter will be posted online at nkcschools.blogspot.com. Additionally, the district Web site and social media pages will link to the newsletter content.

We understand that change is often frustrating, but the District is moving away from the current newsletter delivery system as a cost saving measure. Whereas the current delivery system is a contracted service the district pays for, nkcschools.blogspot.com is free. Even if you are not a blogger, you can still go online and read about district news and events and have the information you want available to you 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week.

Some of the new features that accompany the nkcschools.blogspot.com online newsletter is the ability to comment on content, RSS subscription to the page and newsletter archives. Readers can dialogue about articles or easily find older articles. Newly posted information will automatically appear in your RSS reader if you choose to subscribe to the newsletter feed. Learn more about RSS Feeds and how to make them work for you in this online tutorial from Press Feed.

Last, but not least, if you have a personal Facebook or Twitter account, be sure to become a fan or follow the district on these social media tools. Not only will updated blog postings be linked directly from these sites, additional photos and videos highlighting district activities will be shared. Just Lookin' - Dave Schroeder

This is a brand new song, written, recorded and produced by my dad, Dave Schroeder. Recorded on his new 4-track digital recorder/burner. He thinks it may be one of his best... What do you think? Add your comments below!

Dhoni is all candour and humour

Disarming candour and humour were the intrinsic features of M.S. Dhoni’s interaction with the media here on Wednesday night.

After scoring 124 to ambush the Aussies in the second ODI of the Hero Honda Cup seven-match series here, Dhoni, when asked about his ‘special’ innings, said: “It is not that I have scored many centuries so I will keep all of them in my memory.

“It was a good innings but it was a team effort and not just about me. When I went in the run-rate was good and even if scored at five an over we would have had a good base,” Dhoni said.

Dhoni said that even he would have opted to field first if he had won the toss. “Dew was a factor and with spinners in my attack even I would have fielded first. I am happy with the way all the bowlers performed.

“Harbhajan bowled two bad overs but after that he did get his lines right and he is slowly getting there. Ishant is bowling with rhythm and his pace has gone up,” Dhoni said.
Fine innings

Meanwhile Ricky Ponting said that the Indian batsmen were too good and that Dhoni played a fine innings. “We reasoned about the dew factor and the fact that we were missing a bowler like Brett Lee so we decided to back our batsmen and opted to chase.

“Didn’t work out the way I expected though,” Ponting said and admitted that he missed a bowler like Glenn McGrath to bowl in the death. “Today was an opportunity for your younger players to step up and perform. I am sure they will learn along the way,” Ponting said.

Meannwhile, wicket-keeper Tim Paine will fly back home after suffering a broken finger here on Wednesday. “Paine has broken a finger and he will fly out immediately. Because of the different time zones we are unable to get in touch with our selectors back home though we do have David Boon here with us.

“I am sure we will get a replacement in time for the Delhi match (October 31),” said Ponting.

Milo

I decided to take some time to peruse the limitless amount of profiles on MySpace music, a throwback to the older days of the brigade. Needless to say, you should all be thankful that I took the time to dig through a portion of the heaping pile of producers for you. Born and raised in the South of England, Milo is bangin' out some shankin' skankin' riddims. Enjoy beats driven by bass fatter than Gilbert Grape's mother (and about as many wobbles if she were to find herself on a trampoline for whatever reason.)

CMJ Last Week! WOW!

Forgive me for being so slack on the blog as of late. My home computer has some sort of a virus that killed my Malwarebytes program and won't even let me open any websites that have to do with removing spyware and malware. I have my AVG running all the time and it still got me. No idea where it came from but yeah I am about to have to wipe the whole thing. And I am not the organized type that keeps Program discs around. UGH, yeah anyway that's not what you came here to read.

Last week I went up ta New York City for the 29th Annual CMJ Music Marathon and what a whirlwind week it was! SXSW hosted a party, I was on a panel, Invincible did 2 1/2 shows, I saw a lot of bands, drank a decent number of these:

And stayed with our good friends Josh and Liz

in Crown Heights. And yeah they took me to a Beer Garden in Brooklyn to start things off.

Anyway here's some pics and a slight run down.

Senor Kaos from Atlanta was the first artist I saw upon arrival in NY. This is my homey and I didn't even know he was on this show. Was real nice to see the man!

Homeboy Sandman joined him on stage.

As did Von Pea of Tanya Morgan

Homeboy Sandman, Senor Kaos, Von Pea

Cool thing about this show, was it was at Public Assembly in Brooklyn, which is a double venue. So while Invincible, Senor Kaos, DJ Spinna and more rocked in one room, a whole cadre of dope female MC's and DJ's were in the other room. I don't know everyone's names but what I saw was pretty dope.

Zarinah, from Philly, done killed it for real!

But I mean my highlight of course was seeing Invincible on stage with Waajeed of Platinum Pied Pipers, MAYNE HOLD UP! I couldn't ask for much more.

And they rocked the hell out of this show, as evidenced by this piece in the Village Voice Online.

Anyway yeah it was dope.

This woman - Kalae Guevara - and her band were off the chain.

Live painting and such...

So yeah it really went down.

Saw this en route to the next spot on a garage door!

Anyway, I shoulda taken more pics I know, I know. But this is a good one.

DJ CROP DIGGIE ON A ROOF!

And Puja

Wednesday night SXSW hosted a mixer of sorts for our industry friends and it was really nice. Great folks all around. We are also hosting mixers in Los Angeles on Tuesday Nov. 3rd and in Chicago on Tuesday Nov. 10th. I'd love to see you there. Holler at me if you wanna come thru!

Crystal Lee with my man Patrick and the band Francis from Sweden!

Hugh Forrest Director of SXSW Interactive!

Brent Grulke, Jill Bostur (right) and friends

Joshua Asen, director of I Love Hip-Hop In Morrocco, Luann Willams

My boy Leroy, Crystal Lee and friend.

Andy Flynn and Friend

Lynda Pyle with MC Frontalot and Euclides Pereyra

Tierney Stout

Puja, Friend, Melanie Turner

Then we hit up Peter Rosenberg's Noisemakers event with Talib Kweli and J. Period. Could we possibly see a special Noisemakers event at SXSW 2010?

Peter Rosenberg, Talib Kweli

This band played during the intermission, was killer.

And my man Daru Jones rocking the fresh N. Brown Clothing T-Shirt. (That I just so happened to be wearing as well that night!)

Then we headed over to another spot to see Bilal and Shafiq Husein. Shafiq's En Af Reka is my favorite album of the moment, I can't stop jamming it, butthis particular show, I don't know. Sound was really bad. Like I saw backing vocalists singing and did not hear a word they sang! Was way off, but I mean, whatever, the album is killer and I know they will get it together.

The women responsible for my favorite song and video of this year - Invincible and Tiombe Lockhart!

So nice to finally meet Tiombe! WHAT A VOICE!

THEN I was on a panel pertaining to International Hip-Hop thanks to Fiona Bloom! I hope to get the audio from this soon. Was really dope, lots of insights and such. Thanks Fiona and nice to meet you MC Melodee, Dalton Higgins and Magee McIlvaine!

I took this one so no I am not in it, yeah but it went down.

THEN! Hit up the Spectre/Foundation DJ Mixer at Von and man, yeah, saw all my good folks!

From all over the place.

DJ 11, Jessica Weber, Kunal Merchant. If you haven't heard Kunal's remix of Jay Z's American Gangster - HINDUSTANI GANGSTER - click here to DL now cuz it is amazing. Rattles the trunk and such. So dope!

Our panel manager Angela came with us to the party, seen here with my girl Quinn from Montreal/Brazil!

Me and DJ Crop Diggie used to live in Brooklyn together, this was in 1994. Spent more time with him this past week than we have in the past year. Real cool man!

Edan played mostly psych rock, which I didn't mind.

Me and JERN EYE!

Jessica, Me and my wife Melissa

Protege and friend

Then after that we went by the crib of the legendary DANTE ROSS. Y'all need to be familiar with this man. he had his hands on a lot of the best hip-hop from the 90's and beyond. Dude has worked with everyone and is a big man on the scene for real. He laced me with the new Bobitto Pro Keds even. And we had dinner at Lil Frankies, work to J Dirrt thats my SPOT!

Saturday was the DJ Hero event. Rain couldn't stop it man, shit was throwed.

J. Period killed it but I missed Z-Trip

Fab 5 Freddy in the spot!

As well as DJ Vlad

My man Paul Stewart with DJ Smiles Davis and Tamir Brown.

Then walked in the rain to see this band from Sweden, Francis, who were pretty killer. Look out for the m in 2010 for sure.

Then later that evening we went to my friend Astra's apartment and were joined by DJ ayres and his lovely wife Veronika and the wonderful baby NINA! So glad to finally meet you Nina.

Camera battery died at this point. Phone died way before that. So we sat in Astra's apt and listened to Funkmaster Flex on Hot 97. I have to say that it was the most disappointing radio show I have ever heard in my life. Here it was Saturday night in the Big Apple and the ONLY New York rapper, in fact only east coast rapper I heard on the radio was Jay Z. The rest was ALL Gucci Man, OJ da Juiceman, Lil Jon, Lil Wayne, I mean seriously, it was ALL Atlanta/SE raps. I don't mind any of those artists, but man, I was in New York, it was Saturday night, I was listening to Funkmaster Flex on Hot 97 and I heard nothing but this shit? Are you fuckin' kidding me? People kept telling me that NY fell off musically, and I never believed them...

And I still don't. New York is still a dynamic city, but like every other city in the world, they have allowed their radio waves to be destroyed by corporate fools who are only out to destroy us.

O.K. I'll stop before I spazz out and write something that I regret or that could put my career in jeopardy. Seriously, tho, I am extremely mad about this shit. I thought AT LEAST New York could hold itself down, but alas, no.

Rappers, think about that shit next time you complain about your local radio station not playing any local/independent artists. They don't even do that shit in New York and its a fucking travesty.
