During holiday I read some books of the "Plotkara" series by Cecily von Ziegeser. The book tells about a group og teenagers from the most elegant part of Manhattan- Uper East Side. The're beautiful, talented and terrible rich.
In the first part we meet sceptic and self-confidence Blair, handsome and always high Nate, beautiful and misterious Serena and the rest of wonderful kids. They go to private school but it doesn't make them more talented than us. On holidays they are somewhere on Caribbean and they drink exotic juices.
The bookis really interesting but at the begining you may not like the characters but if you know them closer, everything changes, because what turns out? They are normal teenagers like us only more wealthy.

Snap happy

It's late.

a little at a time, then all at once

I have decided to put this blog on hiatus, at least for awhile. When I started it, I didn't really intend it to be anything more than a goofy outlet for whatever cognitive runoff came to mind while I was working--a natural extension of e-mails I would send out to groups of friends. I didn't think that anyone who wasn't already a friend of mine would read it, and, for that matter, I didn't actually think I would stick with it for more than a week or two.

I certainly did not imagine that having a blog would be a way for me to make many new friends--you know who you are--which has been the single best thing about it.

But then, sometime over the past year or so the audience problem caused by all the different relationships I had with people who were sometimes reading--family, friends, students, colleagues, prospective employers--made it harder for me to write with the same spirit with which I started. I've also sometimes felt like I was morphing into some kind of peculiar jester-statesman for my discipline, which I'll profess to some ambivalence about.

Dealing with troll-commenters has also sapped some of my enthusiasm for blogging, especially as having to turn off anonymous comments has reduced comments from non-trolls as well. (It's strange: I blogged along for quite awhile without comments and not missing them, but once you have them, it's hard to feel the same energy from blogging when their number is sharply reduced.)

In any case, I don't want to be melodramatic about this, especially since given my tendencies toward distracted logorrhea I'll probably be back sooner or later, here or somewhere else. (And especially since last time I proclaimed a hiatus it ended up not being for long.) Even so, it seems opportune to repeat how grateful I am to everyone who has been a supportive reader over the years.

In the little village in the South of France there lived a young girl, named Julliette. She was 16. She was handicapped since one year and she couldn't walk. When she was coming home from holiday she had a car accident, which absolutely changed her life.
The girl sttopped going to school, so teachers were teaching her at home. She lost all her friends because nobody wanted to talk to a person who couldn't dance, walk and run. Julliette was really unhappy. Her family was helping her a lot, but teenager's life was very hard without mates.
One summer daya boy came to the village. There was a holiday, so Paul decided to visit his grandma. When Julliette was having a walk with her dad, she met the boy, who want to do some shopping for his grandma and to see the village a little bit. When he saw the girl, he liked her just like that. He thought that she was nice, true and... so sad. He came up to her and they started talking. Julliett's father was really glad that his daughter met someone and he decided to invite Paul for a dinner. From that day the boy visited the girl every day. He took her for walks, shopping and by the river. They really liked each other. The conversations with the boy made Julliette happy. She learned how to be glad with life again. Paul learned something from her too. He realized how precious and fragile health was, he was grateful for every next day of the life.
When the holiday ended and the boy went away, Julliette didn't stop smiling. She was still juyful. For the whole year they wrote each other letters until the next holiday, when Paul visited her again.

Team G Cross Honda Comes To An End

Following an announcement by Honda at the end of the final JCF race series in Japan at the weekend, it can be confirmed that Team G Cross Honda will not be continuing.

23 Degrees Sports Management, the company hired by the Honda Racing Corporation to manage the international mountain bike race activities for the company, confirms today that the program will have no future beyond 2007.

As a motorcycle manufacturer, Honda had achieved the approach of this challenge by applying its technology which has been cultivated by its motorcycle development, and getting some feedback to its motorcycle technology is one of the purposes of its entry into the downhill mountain bike racing activity. The original "RN01" technology for example, frame and suspension, was designed utilizing off road motorcycle technology, including a very special centrally mounted gearbox that is able to change shift at any time; these were improved repeatedly, and were completed as Honda expected and hoped it would when they started this project back in 2000. The correctness of direction, and its approach, has been validated by the fact that they have been the number one international team for the past 2 years, and proven by the race results including acquisition of the NORBA title (2004) and UCI World Cup title (2005).

Again, Honda wish to express its gratitude to all team members and persons related to this project, and want all members of the team to continue aiming at success in all the challenges that lay before them. Honda deeply appreciate the cooperation and warm guidance they received as a company from both the race scene and the bicycle industry, allowing its to learn a lot over these years.

J. R. R. Tolkien "The Hobbit"

"The Hobbit" is a fantastic tale about a title hobbit. Hobbits are similar to halflings, but only in appearance. They are peace-loving, short creatures with hair on their feet who live in a village called Shire. Main hero of this book, Bilbo Baggins, is a very ordinary hobbit. He lives peacefully in his burrow, but someday his old friend, sorcerer Gandalf, visits him and offers him a great journey. Little hobbit of course doesn't want to go, but clever Gandalf leaves mark on his door. On another day group of dwarves knock to Bilbo's door. And this is the begginning of a great and dangerous journey to old dwarves abode ocuppied by a dragon called Smaug. Bilbo is displeased with his current sittuation, but he wants to live an advanture. This book is really good, I've read it with satisfaction, and I can direct it to you. In this book you can read about Gollum, and about one ring, wich you can see in Lord Of The Rings trilogy. If you like LOTR you should read this book.

K-Pax

All of us thought about the aliens. Some of the people belives in them and they swear that they saw the strangers but the others laugh this and think that of this and think that they are abnormal.
One day on railwy ststion in New York a man appears from nowhere and he lells that he is from the other planet. Police immediately takes him to institution of psychic.
The strange man meets dr. Mark Powell and starts telling him about his home on K-Pax, he says that he's Prot.
Psychiatrist is very astonished when it turnus out that his patient has got amazing knowledge about cosmos and astrology. he introduces Prot to his friend who's an astrologer. It turnsout tah Prot knows uncommon things about which knom at most four people in thw whole world!
Move is stranger that the others but it's very interesting. You should watch it to the end because the end is very suprising and actually everyone of us can think that Prot was really from K-Pax...

The Leon

This is the one of the best movies I've ever seen. It isn't only my opinion but also thousands of other people who saw this film. My dream is making movie like that, one day.
Leon (Jean Reno) is a paid killer. Although he kills he has got a rule" "no woman no kids". One day against his rules he opened the door weeping Mathilde (Natalie Portman). Girl's family were murdered by terrible Stansfield from DNA. Mathielde asked Leon to take her with him to learn her to kill because she had totake a revange on the killers for her little brother. In return she would teach him to read.
That was how the most atypical friendship in history of movie was started. I'm not going to tell you what happens next so you could watchthis film on your own.
When I sam it first tiem I cried. That's satrnge becouse I don't like movies where are guys with guns but this one is really diffrent. The film by Luc Besson with great creations of: Jean Reno, Natalie Portman and brilliant Gary Oldman, I recommend to all of you!

assorted

I have not been blogging steadily lately and will confess to some uncertainty about the future of the JFW enterprise, but, here, let me get you caught up:
  • My talk at Yale went all right. I was complimented by a couple people on being willing to present null findings, which is a mixed compliment to receive since of course when I collected the data for the project I wasn't expecting null findings.
  • I stayed in the New Haven Lawn Club after my talk at Yale. I was given a key with a giant plastic keychain that said ROOM #8 in huge letters. When I unlocked the door to my room, I saw that someone else's stuff was still there. Then I looked at the door and realized it was room 9 instead of 8. I wonder if the giant keychains were just a ruse to throw people off the trick that the hotel actually had the same key for every room.
  • One of the things I did in Cambridge this weekend was go to CSI: The Experience at the Museum of Science. I had fun, but am not sure I would recommend it to anyone else just because most of my fun was from resolutely not sticking to the way the designers intended the exhibition to be done. As one thing: you are given one of three crimes to "solve," do not fall for that. Just do all the stuff for all the crimes, as even if you do not have the little sheets for the other crimes you will have no problem "solving" them as well, and only one of them has an interesting plot twist.
  • I am contemplating a hunger strike to call attention to the need for Northwestern sociology to change its front webpage to something more elegant and less busy.
  • Obtaining Office 2007 is all that remains for me to have my computer set up so that I don't have any glaring barriers--other than, well, myself--to being productive in my office. (I use Outlook 2007 for work e-mail and OneNote 2007 as my note-taking platform.) It's unclear how protracted a stumbling block this will be--technically my Northwestern machine has an Office 2007 license but Northwestern does not have the Office 2007 media to install it on any machines. Whatever. I'm not happy about it being my ninth week here and still not feeling like I have my basic computer needs set up.
  • Hooray for Genarlow Wilson being free! I'll confess that the Jena 6 have failed to rouse much outrage within me, but Wilson: there is the victim of a clear injustice. Added bonus hooray for Wilson saying that he plans not only to go to college but to major in sociology "because I feel like I've been living my major" (story here)
  • Following the recommendation of a certain clandestine blogger, I've watched all 50 or so episodes of How I Met Your Mother via iTunes the past few weeks. I'm so surprisingly pleased to see that life can go on after Doogie Howser, MD. I feel somewhat guilty/melancholic about the extent to which I feel empathy with certain aspects of the protagonist given that he is supposed to be 8-9 years younger than me, although not as guilty/melancholic as I do about the extent to which I feel empathy with the 18-year-old girl protagonist of Ghost World.
  • Two thumbs up for Ian Ayres' book Super Crunchers. The chapter on all the evidence about the failure of expert qualitative judgment to surpass simple quantitative algorithms will cause one to wonder what purpose is served by having academics spend so much time pouring over junior-search-candidate and graduate-admissions files.
  • One-and-a-half-or-so thumbs up for Cass Sunstein's book Infotopia. The chapter on all the evidence about the failure of deliberating groups to surpass the judgment obtained by just averaging individual opinions will cause one to wonder what purpose is served by academics spending so much time discussing issues in faculty meetings (Or, well, it's relatively easy to see various purposes served, but it's less clear how much making better decisions is one of them.)
  • Oh, and, further evidence of the vanishing cognizance of wringers from american culture, from ESPN.com: "These guys were put through the ringer," he said from Tampa, Fla. "I think we're ready to make an informed decision." (see previous post on subject here)

"All but love"

Last week I went with my friend to see a performance. It was in the library - Książnica Pomorska. It wasn't long, like it always is in the theatre. It lasted about 40 minutes only. There were two young people playing a girl and a boy. She was the college student. She was writing poems and novels and she wanted to write a book too and become a famous writer. He was an editor in one of the newspappers and lived from writing for a long time.
One day the girl sent a letter to him, but she didn't have any reply. So she sent the next and the next message, until finally he gave her an answer. He didn't like her works, he thought that they were childish and unserious. He told her that she didn't have any talent and she wouldn't become a writer. It made the girl annoyed. She sent to him a malignant and cutting letter. And that's how the story was started.
Persons were writing to each other and fighting all the time. There were some songs in the show, singed by the girl and the strict editor too. The girl made up the story of her own life, which made him more interesting letter by letter. He was fascinated with her correspondence and she fell in love with him. He loved her too, but he hid this feeling from himself and from the girl too.
This is really funny and nice story about love, literature and about people who are afraid of falling in love. But finally they have to fall in love, even if they don't want to. And than it's not so stupid like it was at the start. Love gives happiness.

„Rino” Gattuso - FIGHTER

http://pl.youtube.com/watch?v=wzCFy6a8uQs <---- This is all Gatusso :D -film

The pass for 21 Poles in World Cup 2008!

How to this time start of Polish competitors' in contests Wourld Cup stood under great sign question. A rule of 20 points UCI additionally limited the possibility of notifications, however Mr. Andrzej Skrzypczak was engaged this matter and an affairs gained new turn. How Mr. Andrzej informed us, a national Championships in DH / 4X are the awarded points by UCI and the competitors from high places collected considerable quantity of points in this year, what gave them a possibility to start in World Cup 2008. Andrzej Skrzypczak - "In last year only Grzesiek Borodajko won the necessary points authorizing him to start in Wourld Cup, and this resulted of fact, that nobody sent the scores of Championships of Poland to UIC. The scores of national championships are very high pointed! I looked after 4X, but I see, PZKol. sent also DH scores and in this way a quite considerable group of competitors has got a pass to nextyear's competitions of World Cup of what I'm very glad and I believe, that they'll use this chance. I don't know why in previous years these scores weren't sent to UCI, but organizers of the Championship of Poland probably simply neglected it, or they didn't know how many points flew 'around nose' of competitors. On webside of UCI has appeared information on this subject. A rule introduced in last year stays, that competitor can take participation in the World Cup if has got 20 captured UIC points. In this situation in 4X in next season 12 competitors can star in competition, who took places in world ranking in 2007.
47. Borodajko Grzegorz.........................122 punkty
55. Baran Łukasz................................98"

174. Kowalski Jacek.............................30 "
190. Smuczyński Wojciech........................25 "
202. Kuckowski Tomasz...........................20 "

All these competitors have automatically right take participation in nextyear's World Cup contests!

In downhill 9 Polish competitors captured 20 or more points authorizing 'em to start in World Cup:

First match

On 18th of October PGE SKRA BEŁCHATÓW played their first match in the Champions League. The players from Bełchatów stood opposite the players from Podgorica. It's a team with very young players, so it hasn't got a big experience. But it won the first et with Skra with result 25:17. Skra's players were playing really badly. The block, the attack and taking ball from serve didn't work. There just wasn't the Polish Champions play. Second set started badly too. But after some time Skra was better than Podgorica. They started to win all balls (maybe not all but a lot of them). Finally the attack worked. Podgorica couldn't stop Mariusz Wlazły. His attacks were quick, strong and very dinamic. In whole match he scored a lot of points, not just from attack, but from serve too. Apart from that the block started to work. Jane Heikinen and Daniel Pliński were playing really good by net. Beside that they were doing great serves. Piotrek Gruszka - the capitan of the team - came back to play after a minor injury. He was playing really good. He took a lot of balls drom serves and finished his attacks well. Stefan Antiga - French, who plays in Bełchatów in this season - wasn't to good. I hope that he just had worse day. The new libero - Robert Milczarek - played pretty good. I didn't know that he was such a great player. And I'm glad that I was wrong.
Judging by current team's form, I think that they can go further than last season. Well, good luck, guys! :)

Chelsea Londyn is the best.

The Chelsea London footballers have had crisis decided behind them.
In meeting of 11-th queue Premiership the vice-champions of England defeated very good playing in this season Manchester City 6:0 (2:0).

Team from Stamford Bridge noted down the third victory from line, the highest victory since over ten years, and its goalkeeper Petr Cech hasn't taken the ball out from a mash already since 361 minutes. "The Blues" were decidedly better than Sven - Goeran Eriksson's team. On Saturday their superiority wasn't subject to discussion. The players from Manchester practically didn't threaten an adversary's goal, which at last showed a pretty, glamorous ball. Coming back to great form Didier Drogba won two goals for Chelsea. Andrij Szewczenko also passed his the first hit in this season.

planes, trains, automobiles, and beavers

I'm giving a talk at Yale tomorrow. For this, I am taking the first flight out tomorrow to Boston, and then taking the train from Boston to New Haven, so that Friday I can take the train back up to Boston and spend the weekend re-visiting Boston and Cambridge.

I talked to my mother earlier this evening. She was impressed to hear I am giving a talk at Yale. She talked about how proud my grandfather would be if he were alive, that a grandson of his would be flying to the east coast to give a talk at Yale. That cinched the conclusion that I really need to wear a jacket and tie for this.

Yale asked me for a title months ago, and the result is that I'm talking about a project I thought I would have returned to by now but have not. Really, the talk is going to be two, not-yet-published, conference-length talks spliced together into one colloquium-length talk. I wish I was farther along on the projects in question, but I think the talk will go okay if I am not too exhausted from the lack of sleep and traveling. Also, having the research be not what I am working on right now means that I will probably be less adroit in answering any questions than I might otherwise be.

Unrelated: A friend of mine is looking for apartments and saw an ad for an 8th floor unit in a building that a rate-your-apartment service online had a report of some "small rodent" problem. She wondered whether a building with a rodent problem could have rodents all the way to the 8th floor. I said yes. Correct? I also said the only thing for sure ruled out by the phrase "small rodent" was beavers, since beavers are the largest rodent. However, Wikipedia says I'm wrong, and that beavers are only the second-largest rodent, after the capybara. So, question 2: if somebody complained on a rate-your-apartment site about a beaver infestation problem, would an eighth floor unit be safe?

correlation, or causality?

my very slow adventures settling in, virtual edition

Today, I switched my professional webpage so as to list my Northwestern affiliation rather than my Harvard/Wisconsin one. I had forgotten all about this until an NU student apologetically sent a message to my GMail account, saying said she couldn't actually find my NU e-mail address anywhere online.

I am still deciding whether to move my professional webpage from jeremyfreese.com to jeremyfreese.org or jeremyfreese.net. Opinions welcome. I would set up a blogpoll if I had the energy for it right now.

One of Northwestern's staff, meanwhile, asked me either to send a photo of myself for the webpage, or to set up a time to have one taken. I've been avoiding it because their faculty page does something strange with the photos that makes a large percentage of them look like the resolution or aspect ratio is inappropriate. I am unphotogenic enough that I don't need technical deficiencies making my visage more unsightly.

one little boy detective playing a pc game; before long it was morning, and then he just felt lame

Out of some perverse desire to screw up any hope of getting my sleep onto a proper schedule, I was up until almost 3 last night finishing a computer game, And Then There Were None, based on the Agatha Christie novel. I hadn't played a PC game in several years (indeed, I'm not sure I have since graduate school), but I was intrigued by it because back in junior high I read all of Agatha Christie's novels. I was curious how one would adapt And Then There Were None into a game, especially since the box promised the game was not compromised if you'd already read the book--it was the world's all-time best-selling mystery novel, and still is if you refuse to acknowledge that the first Harry Potter book is a mystery novel.

As a sociological aside, And Then There Were None has its title because the American publishers in 1940 chose not to bring it out under it's original UK title, Ten Little [N-Words]. (That title is based on a nursery rhyme that is central to the plot.) An American paperback in 1964 used the name that had been used by an earlier play, Ten Little Indians. Current versions of the paperback apparently omit the "Indians" as well and go with "Soldiers." The game I was playing used "Sailor Boys."

The game does indeed have a different ending than the book. I used online hints liberally, because there was no way I was giving this a week or whatever of my life. As a result of these hints, I was able to solve a series of puzzles that first had me break a code to open a secret passage to an underground cavern, then take a raft ride to an abandoned village, then build a giant parachute to try to fly off the island, and then find a buoy at sea with a secret German radio beacon. All this, in turn, turned out to be absolutely irrelevant to the solving the murder or anything else with how the game ends.

The game was sold as a Double Mystery Pack, along with Murder on the Orient Express. It promises "an all-new surprise ending." Murder on the Orient Express is one of the two Christie novels known especially for its distinctive solution, the other being The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. My suspicion looking at the materials was that they were going to trade the ending of Murder on the Orient Express with the ending for The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. I'm not sure I'm going to play through the game to find out if I'm right, though.

i am trying to imagining the sioux city officials response when the faa told them, 'don't want SUX? how about GAY?'

From AP [HT: MS]:
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) — City leaders have scrapped plans to do away with the Sioux Gateway Airport's unflattering three-letter identifier — SUX — and instead have made it the centerpiece of the airport's new marketing campaign.

The code, used by pilots and airports worldwide and printed on tickets and luggage tags, will be used on T-shirts and caps sporting the airport's new slogan, "FLY SUX." It also forms the address of the airport's redesigned Web site — http://www.flysux.com.

Sioux City officials petitioned the Federal Aviation Administration to change the code in 1988 and 2002. At one point, the FAA offered the city five alternatives — GWU, GYO, GYT, SGV and GAY — but airport trustees turned them down.
Although I bet they would sell more "FLY GAY" t-shirts than they will FLY SUX.

to infinity, and beyond

Helllooooo. I was at Knott's Scary Farm yesterday, and yeah, it was scary.

I want to start off by highlighting a couple of my personal favorite labels I can't live without. Click pictures for bigger size.

First is... KAREN WALKER!
Quirky, fun, yet classy, Karen Walker defines street chic. Her stuff can be worn on the street casually and also works at fancy places at night. From eyewear, clothing, to jewelry, Karen Walker immortalizes fashion with unbelievable style. Go Karen! These pictures are from her Fall 2007 ready-to-wear collection.

My second favorite is the more obscure, KTZ, short for Kokon to Zai.
Idolized by hipsters everywhere from London to Japan, KTZ sets the standard for avant-garde fashion. Graphics galore! Kokon to Zai is actually a chain of I believe two shops, one in London and another one in Paris. They carry brands such as Tsumori Chisato [love her!], Vivienne Westwood, Alexandre Herchcovitch, Raf Simmons, Gareth Pugh, Bernhard Willhelm, and others, as well as their own KTZ brand.

Moving on.

COATS! I live in Los Angeles where coats are rather unnecessary. But it's fun to wear them nonetheless and have people staring at you. If you live somewhere where it's actually cold during winter, consider these as your must-haves for the season.

1.
Mayle $940 tweed Vera coat
2.
3.1 Phillip Lim $655 Hunter plaid coat
3.
Whyred $695 Moss coat

4.
Lover $595 Colorway cape
5.
Lyell $690 Tina Tripp coat
6.
A.P.C. $458 Duffel coat (with removeable hood)

Item of the day is.....

Eley Kishimoto $850 Galaxy print ruffle neck dress
available at Creatures of Comfort on Melrose Ave in Los Angeles

'Katyń'

5th October we were with my class in cinema 'Helios", on movie call 'Katyń' in direction known polish producer Andrzej Wajda. In this movie has played many famous actors, between other: Maja Ostaszewska, Artur Żmijewski, Andrzej Chyra, Danuta Stenka, Magdalena Cielecka and very popular in Poland, especially among young audience, Paweł Małaszyński.
Film tell about Katyń crime where NKWD murdered thousand polish officers during second world war. There are showed not only fates of officers, but also their families. In perfect way is showed pain, longing behind closest and endless faith that not everything is lose.
Movie is wound to very modern manner. Whole scenography is fitted for times second world war. Also dresses are selected very well. Mood of some scenes ideally underlines music of Krzysztof Penderecki.
I reckon that it's emotional, but at the same time curious movie. I motivate to observing this movie and apprehension of it.

What can an investigating officer do

Some of the powers of an investigating officer are as follows:

To order a person to go to a police station or other place for questioning and for taking of a statement;
To record what you have to say and ask you to sign it;
To search a place and take away things to be used as evidence;
To seize properties which may be exhibits in the case.

Statements

The law provides for the taking of two kinds of statements:

a Witness Statement (or sometimes called an Investigation Statement) and/or
a Cautioned Statement upon a person being charged.
Generally, you are required to give both kinds of statements.

Witness Statement

This statement is given when the police question you about the facts and circumstances of the case with which you may be acquainted. You are bound to answer truthfully. However, you have a right to choose not to make a statement with regard to any matter which will expose you to a criminal charge.

Cautioned Statement

This type of statement is required to be given upon an accused person being charged with an offence.

When you are charged, the investigating officer will warn you by written notice served on you. In the notice, the charge is set out and you will be asked whether you wish to say anything in answer to the charge. The notice also advises you to mention whatever facts you intend to rely on in your defence at the trial. For example, if you did not commit the crime or you were elsewhere when the crime took place, you should say so.

The charge must be explained to you. If you do not understand the charge, you should tell the investigating officer. If you need an interpreter, ask for one.

When you say anything in your defence, the investigating officer must record it or you may write it yourself. This will be your cautioned statement. The officer must read it over to you. If it is what you have told him you must sign it. If there are any mistakes, you must make the corrections.

What a witness does

As a witness, your duty is to answer questions put to you by lawyers, prosecutors or the Judge truthfully. You should not alter your evidence to benefit anyone or try to influence the evidence of any other witness.

Nobel Prize is good thing, people who do hard work on something can get prize with money and prestige. But I don't understand why Nobel Peace Prize went to Al Gore? What the hell peace has shared with climate? This nobel can get Irena Sandler cause she saved hundreds Jewish's children . It's stinking of the politics.
I think other prizes went to right people, cause they did something good for The World. And because chemistry, physics, economic are black magic for me :D.

in case I was under any delusions that graduate school was something other than a very long time ago

Jay uses the example in his sociology class of Radiohead letting fans choose how much to pay for their new album and discovers that no one in his class appears to have heard of them.

Completely unrelatedly, an unusually kind-spirited friend of mine recently had occasion where she was supposed to speak extemporaneously for a few minutes about her "least favorite celebrity." She ended up drawing a blank. I told her that if I had been me, I would have done Paul McCartney (see, e.g., here or here). We then decided that maybe this wasn't a good idea, given that the task was only to speak briefly and that there was some incentive not to come across as a raving lunatic during that time.

Ricardo KAKA' - 'I belong to Jesus'

Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite (Better know as Kaka’) was born 22 april 1982 in Brazil. He is a Brazilian footballer who play for the best club on Europe – AC Milan of the Italian Serie A. His father name is Bosco Izecson Leite and mum name is Simone dos Santos.

He have a younger brother – Digao (now Digao play in reserve of AC Milan).
7 years ago Kaka had very dangerous accident of a swimming pool ( he had paralysis of his legs because he badly jumped to water but he quick recover ). AC Milan bought him in 2003 for 8 500 000 $ from Sao Paulo. In his first season of AC Milan he scored ten goals in 30 matches and Milan won the Scudetto (they won italian serie a) and european supercup.

Kaka usually played behind striker (footballer who must scored many goals). In 2004-2005 season scored
8 goals in 34 matches. He is very good footballer. All famous clubs want him. Three months ago Real Madrid want pay to Milan 100 000 000 EURO but Silvio Berlusconi ( club owner )
Said NO because he „love” kaka very much and he said that he never sold Ricardo Kaka to other club. Kaka is a very religious footballer. He had a T-shirts which he wrote ‘’I BELONG TO JESUS’’ , ‘’JESUS LOVES YOU’’ and when he scored goal he raise his hands to sky and he pray to Jesus !!! KAKA this is my favourite footballer , I love him because he play and scores bautiful goals for Milan :)

FORZA KAKA'

FORZA MILAN ;)

Michal Prokop 2nd in the finals of the BMX Supercross

By this excellent result on Saturday, October 13 in French seaside town Frejus Michal Prokop concluded the pre-Olympic BMX season. In the last of four races of the World Cup of the new Olympic discipline BMX Supercross he won after an excellent performance the second place. Thus he repeated the last year’s position on the same place and took up the fourth place of the previous round of the World Cup in Salt Lake City. After the unlucky first part of this year’s season Michal Prokop sprung from the twelfth position up to the fifth place in the overall standing of the BMX SX World Cup 2007. Prokop’s coach - Radim Mencik: “It looks on this, that Michał quickly preformed his wrongs from the first part of season. He feels good and he’s in a great form, it was visible in his drive. The way in which he gained leadership in semi-final was FANTASTIC!
I think so, too.
