Parov Stelar - A Night In Torino

Fusing electronic elements with jazz/swing sounds Parov Stelar has a sound that is one of a kind. I stumbled upon this track in a Lounge.fm mix and it grabbed me, so I wanted to spread the love.

Cirque de la Symphonie's acrobats accompany SSO on Fri, Mar 5, 7:30 pm, Riverview Theater

The Shreveport Symphony Orchestra's Leah Escude says, "We are so excited about our upcoming concert on Friday, March 5, at 7:30 p.m. It promises to be a wonderful experience for all.

Tickets are going fast. If you are planning to attend you need to get yours soon. You can call the box office or log on to our website to purchase tickets. See you there."

With the Cirque de la Symphonie comes an international array of breathtaking aerial fliers, says the SSO web site; acrobats, jugglers, and dancers to strike a resoundng chord with your inner child.

The orchestra performs music by Dvorak, Bizet, John Williams, and many others. Says Escude, "The Cirque production is winning raves from sold-out audiences across the country."

Now you can buy tickets online.

In 1969; a Beatles story

A first attempt at animation, via cut paper and hand.

When Kristi Dorothinia Hannah began work on her dance show, The Beatles Garden, I began to create a Beatles remix and video as accompaniment.

The story as it emanated from my exploratory first-time animation workshop tells of how the Beatles came into our world as godly bearers of melody and rhythm and how the world was topsy turvy with their tunes. But John was shot dead (red pool of blood by his head) and George died, too, reminding us that all golden times are evanescent.

Looking forward to more cut paper animations now that I've learned beaucoup lessons in making this one.

To be or not to be.

I'M BACK!!:D
& Today, i signed my contract, tried on the kebaya & went for pre-employment medical check-up. Am starting work on Monday.
Didn't expect it to THIS FAST, till yesterday, when Wewson told me that I only had about 4 days left. Totally forgot that there are only 28 days in the month of February!

Rahhh, There goes alot of my freedom. I can't even take my BTT, which i booked over a month ago. & Now I have to wait again, cheeeeken.
Work starts on Monday, which also means that tomorrow night is the last night for me to party away- Am still in the midst of considering though~

Ok, I have also decided to put aside the long-time decision of a tattoo, FOR NOW. Though its totally not gonna be visible to anyone else except myself (& uh hum, someone else), I cannot risk my all-time-dream-career for that little action. It just seems that the disadvantages which it brings overpowers the advantages.
Plus, I wouldn't want to do it for the sake of experimenting, lest I regret in the future. Though I know there's laser & all, but its never a 100%........
So TTFN to that item on the to-do-list, till a few years later.
RIGHT NOW, SOMEONE IS GONNA BE DAMN HAPPY ONCE HE HEARS THAT I'VE DROPPED THAT IDEA!

You've guessed it, Its DALUNG-WANNABE!

Bella of the Week

Janelle Monae
She has authentic and a classic prep style. One word to describe her is original. Her tomboyish look meets femininity.

Hip-Hop This Weekend in AUSTIN!

As we all sit here and wait for SXSW to finally be upon us, there's plenty to do in the meantime.

Including three hip-hop shows Friday night (that I know of at least), and the Grand Opening of the NICE KICKS store on the Drag Saturday.

If ya don't know, Nice Kicks is a website devoted to the Sneaker Head lifestyle. And it's based right here in Austin. My man Matt is opening a physical store, at 2815 Guadalupe St. And Bun B and DJ Clark Kent will be in the place for this momentous opening! Legends! Word is another legend, Dante Ross will be in the house as well. Are you ready for this???

I'm not even a sneaker head and I'm excited for it. I buy "kicks" once every two years I think, so if anyone wants to help me step my game up (Like the man Dante did quite recently on the Pro Keds tip) I'M WITH IT.

And it's safe bet some of these cats will be passing through as well...

Friday night there's a special Cool Kids show at The Mohawk. It's the Huston-Tillotson Homecoming party, but a limited number of tickets are available HERE.

No flyer for that one, but same night we have P.O.S., Dessa and Astronautilus around the corner at Red 7. Bring your Cool Kids ticket stub for discount admission to this show!

POS has become one of my favorite rappers in the past year or so. That last album was insane.

And then of course, AMPLIVE will be DJing at the Beauty Bar after the Zion I performance at Stubb's. They are opening up for Rebelution at Stubb's and then Amp gone go wreck the decks.
