District’s 1913 Society partners with Harris Connect to collect alumni information

The district’s 1913 Society for alumni, and current and retired employees, has started work on a database of alumni from all district high schools. Data collection company Harris Connect (headquartered in Chesapeake, VA) was selected to comb through district files and contact alumni to update their contact information. Alumni can opt to include as much (or as little) of their information as they like.

Harris Connect serves more than 4,000 non-profit organizations, such as Vietnam Veterans of America and the National Eagle Scout Association, and educational associations in our area, such as Park Hill, Raytown, Shawnee Mission and Center. They publish commemorative publications such as the alumni directories currently being compiled for North Kansas City and Winnetonka high schools. Oak Park High School has previously worked with Harris Connect to establish their directory and will be updating in the next few years. Staley High School will be ready for a directory in approximately five years. Harris Connect also sets up an interactive online community for district alumni. All of this is done at no cost to the district.

Each directory includes photos and information on the history of the school, as well as updated contact information for all alumni that wish to be included. Alumni are contacted through a postcard and phone call campaign. When you call the toll-free number on the postcard, you may update your information to be included in the directory. There are six options should you choose to purchase a directory:

• Full version CD Rom


• Hardbound + CD Rom


• Softbound + CD Rom


• Reunion CD (contains the alum's class year + 2 class years above and below)

Alumni may choose not to update their contact information or be included in the directory. They may also choose not to purchase a directory. Harris Connect may ask if alums would like to order magazine subscriptions during this phone call – this is an added offer and not part of the district alumni directory. Alumni are under no obligation to order. Harris Connect is under contract with the district and cannot use any alumni contact information for purposes other than the alumni directory, nor can it sell contact information to a third party.
