Australian spearhead Brett Lee, who has skipped the home series against Bangladesh as he copes with the trauma of splitting with his wife Liz, has been advised to return to cricket as soon as possible and is likely to be available for the October tour to India.Lee's manager, Neil Maxwell, who is also his close friend, has told him that he needs to get back to the field quickly.
'He will need to take some stock, he'll need a couple of weeks,' Maxwell was quoted as saying in the Sydney Morning Herald.
'The plan is for him to take stock mentally and otherwise, and I have advised him he needs to get back onto the field as soon as he can.'
Lee will miss the three-match one-day series against Bangladesh in Darwin, starting Saturday.
Tasmanian right-arm quick Brett Geeves has been called up in his place.
Lee is Australia's most successful sporting export in India, where he is revered with Bollywood star status. Skipping the Indian tour could harm his burgeoning business interests in the subcontinent.
Lee will spend time with his parents, siblings and friends as he deals with his marriage break-up, but has no plans to leave Sydney.
The relationship between Lee and Liz blossomed during the 2005 Ashes tour and Lee proposed while on tour in South Africa in early 2006.
He capped off playing his 50th Test and taking his 200th wicket in Durban by presenting Liz Kemp with a ring made with South African diamonds.
They were married in a lavish ceremony at the country house of broadcaster Alan Jones at Fitzroy Falls, near Bowral, New South Wales (NSW), in June 2006.
