Anime Movie Night at the Library

Makoto Konno is having one of those days. She is late for school, hit with a pop quiz, starts a fire in home economics class, and gets knocked down in gym class. What else could go wrong?  Suddenly, she discovers the ability to literally leap backwards in time. Now, she can correct any embarrassing situation, but her time traveling has adverse effects on her friends. With each leap, she alters the fate of those around her. Come join us as we watch The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, and see Makoto discover the most wonderful secret of her young adult life.  Snacks are provided. Fall Youth Sports from Gladstone Parks & Rec
Fall Competitive Youth Volleyball League
Gladstone Parks & Recreation and North Kansas City Schools are offering a competitive volleyball league for 5th-8th graders. This is a coed league. Games will begin Saturday, September 25. Team entry fee is $625 per team (maximum 9 players) or $75 per individual.  This includes eight games, 12 practices, and two practice balls per team, two officials, two tournaments and game equipment.

Sign up deadline: Friday, August 20, or until league is full.

Registrations will be accepted in person at Parks & Recreation inside Gladstone City Hall, 7010 N. Holmes or by mail (Attn: Volleyball). You also may register in person at the Gladstone Community Center, 6901 N. Holmes. Fall Developmental Youth Flag Football Accepting Registrations
Gladstone Parks & Recreation is accepting registrations for the Fall Youth Flag Football League. This 8-week program offers instruction in the fundamentals of flag football and organized team participation for boys and girls of various skill levels in the 1st-8th grade. Games focus on learning, sportsmanship and fun.

All practices will be at Happy Rock Park on Mondays from 5:30-6:30 p.m., beginning Tuesday, August 30. Games begin Saturday, September 25. The fee is $60 and includes a uniform T-shirt.  Registrations will be accepted until August 20 or until leagues are full.

Gladstone Parks & Recreation Is Looking For Youth Coaches
Gladstone Parks & Recreation is looking for individuals interested in coaching in their youth sports programs. Coaches are currently needed for soccer and flag football. In early September, coaches will be need for volleyball.

The fall soccer season begins practice August 17. Flag football begins practice August 30.  Both are 8-week programs. The volleyball season begins practice the week of September 13 and is a 10-week program
