More than 1,000 talented young musicians from throughout the Kansas City area auditioned this past weekend at Liberty High School for positions in KC Metro All-District competition.
Students sought performance chairs in the All-District concert bands, jazz bands and symphonic orchestra.
Those selected for concert bands and orchestra will perform together Jan. 9 at the Lee’s Summit High School Performing Arts Center, beginning at 6 p.m. Jazz band musicians perform in a separate concert scheduled for Jan. 22, 7 p.m. at Park Hill South High School auditorium. Concerts are free and open to the public.
