Wikipedia is a multilingual, web-based and free contend project of encyclopedia operated by the non profit Wikimedia Foundation. Wikipedia started in 2001 and it's the largest and dominant reference site in Internet. In november 2007, Wikipedia had over 9,1 million articles in 252 languages. The English Wikipedia edition passed over 2000000 arcticles in 9th september 2007, and over 2104000 arcticles in november 28. Wikipedia arcticles have been written by volunteers all around the world, and it can be edited by anyone. Ranks says that Wikipedia is among the top ten most visited websites. Critics have questioned Wikipedia reliability and accuracy beacause of its open nature. Site has been criticized for acts of vandalism, such as instertion of random letters in an artciles and addition of false or unverivied informations. Scholary work suggest that vandalism is shot and Wikipedia is as accurate as real encyclopedia.
