Dear Santa, I'd like...

Bishop of Mira (present-day Turkey) was born about 280 year in Patara, died about 345 or 352. The one of the most worshiped Orthodox saints (called Santa Miracle worker) and also Catholic saint. He was famous as a miracle worker, saved sailors and saved a city from a hunger. Santa showed his courage and justice when he was saving a dishonesty accused clerks of a tsar on a death. According to legend he got a big property in a legacy after his rich parents, which gladly divided with a poor people. He was conspicuous of his piety and mercy. A citizens of Mira chose him as their bishop. To the present-day exists usage to give a gifts in form of a surprise, but actually this usage is connected to a fabulous figure of Santa.
