Big Bombs!   Between September 1957 and December 1962 the United States government and the Soviet Union dropped hundreds of Thermo-Nuclear bombs, ranging from 1 megaton to 58 megatons.

The worlds most powerful hydrogen bomb was detonated on the 30th of October 1961. The bomb had an explosive force of 58 megatons, or almost 6,000 times more powerful than the Hiroshima bomb. The bomb was dropped by an aircraft, and detonated 365 metres (1,200 feet) above the surface. The shock wave produced by this bomb was so powerful, it went thrice around the earth. The mushroom cloud extended almost 60 kilometres into the atmosphere. Resulting downfall was measured over the entire northern hemisphere. A flash of light could be observed all the way to Hopen in the Norwegian Sea, Sør-Varanger in the Norwegian county of Finnmark and by the Inari Lake in Finnish Lappland.

Our Digital Crisis

I found it quite fitting that I came across this article focusing on the internet and the way we use it considering the little chat jeanz and I had earlier today about Facebook. Artist Jonathan Harris has a lot to say, and does so quite intelligently. This is one segment of his essay "World Building in a Crazy World" entitled "Our Digital Crisis".

"The Internet is causing mass homogenization of human identity, making us all look the same.
We use the same tools and social networks, fitting into the same templates, designed by companies to maximize page views and profits (with some notable exceptions like CraigsList).
Most online experiences are made, like fast food, to be cheap, easy, and addictive: appealing to our hunger for connection but rarely serving up nourishment. Shrink-wrapped junk food experiences are handed to us for free by social media companies, and we swallow them up eagerly, like kids given buckets of candy with ads on all the wrappers.
These experiences are sensitive neither to individual humans nor to the human collective, but only to page views and growth (in a corporate, not personal sense).

It is fitting that these companies call their customers “users”.
As we fill in the same boxes, answer the same questions, and express ourselves in the same generic ways, we might think this convergence of identity is a good thing, leading to some kind of global unity or mass empathy. But true empathy comes not from forcing people all to be the same, but from helping people to appreciate their differences.
Our online tools do a great job at breadth (hundreds of friends, thousands of tweets), but a bad job at depth. We live increasingly superficial lives, reducing our relationships to caricatures and our personalities to billboards, as we speed along at 1,000 miles an hour.
We trade self-reflection for busyness, gorging ourselves on it and drowning in it, without recognizing the violence of that busyness, which we perpetrate against ourselves and at our peril.
For the last 100 years—from letters, to phones, to faxes, to emails, to chats, to texts, to tweets—communication has been getting shorter and faster, but we are approaching a terminal velocity.
I doubt there is a shorter means of communication than the tweet, unless we start to make monosyllabic grunts at each other or communicate silently, brain to brain. Brief gestures of communication can be beautiful, but can also be shallow. So what will happen next? Will we stop at the tweet, or will we bounce back in the other direction, suddenly craving more depth? I’d bet on the latter.
But even if we start to crave more depth, we cannot run away to a more primitive time.
The momentum of technological growth is too strong for us to prevent it from defining our future. Like it or not, our future world will largely be digital.
Instead of fleeing to the forest, we must find the humanity in the machine and learn to love it. If we decide the humanity does not yet exist there in the ways we expect, then we must create it."

a creative writing experimenti wrote after highschool. get pissed if you want! i wont deny that i didn't try my hardest in high-school.
i felt oppressed, unmotivated, restricted.
forced and preconditioned in the areas of politics, religion and morality.

originality and spontaneity were frowned upon, unless, of course, it pertained to christianity. but how can this be, when christianity asks only that you don't ask questions? faith is all it takes, so don't wonder about anything, ok kids?

no jeans, no T-shirts, no talking, are you wearing a belt? don't let your hair grow past your ears or the administrator will pull on it. don't sag your pants, otherwise the administrator will pick you up by your belt-loops.

fuck. i thought i was a christian. no, i believed it. and yet the questions never stopped popping into my head: what about people, say aborigines for instance, that have never heard of jesus? what about them? oh, well, god makes himself known through nature?


the mysteries of nature certainly do point to a higher power, i mean, i cant think of many civilizations that didn't question the existence of something greater than mankind, but come on! i don't hear the leaves telling me jesus died on a cross for my sins...there's only one book that says this, and questioning the sacred words of this book is more than forbidden.


well, teacher, what about babies that die shortly after birth? what about mentally impaired individuals. don't they get to see the majestic golden gates that lead to the holy city? my teachers called out a resounding "maybe". they pulled out a random "age of understanding" bullshit excuse. i don't recall jesus ever talking about an age of understanding, nor are those words in sequence anywhere in the bible?

do people really believe that the "holy unchanged texts" of the bible truly went unchanged for thousands of years? through the dark ages? perfectly translated into old english? i doubt it. i mean for god's sake, they took the bible away from the people for a thousand years...you don't think they changed anything? start thinking about these things, they can only do you good.

teacher, teacher! tell me, what of the years where jesus just wasn't there? years 13-30? you know, the years most influential in growth and maturity? why wasn't this part of jesus life recorded? perhaps he was off in a neighboring nation, learning the ways of the great buddha? i mean, come on; the correlations between jesus and the buddha are astounding, often exact. why wasn't i taught this?

why wasn't i taught about the hero complex? the fact that dozens of historical figures share similar characteristics with jesus? virgin birth, baptism, disciples, crucifixion, sons of god, resistance of the devil, the list goes on and on and on...

why wasn't i ever told that the jesus story was just one of hundreds of hero stories, all extremely similar? is it because the church wants my 10%? i say yes. if your church really wanted to help people, why wouldnt they give to the poor, rather than buy a $100,000 stereo projector system? i mean, aren't people starving to death more important than a bunch of conservative fucks all reading words off a big screen, singing koom-by-ah?
yet, no one attending my old high-school will ever learn of these things. the many holes and contradictions of corporate christianity. i don't hate jesus. i just hate the warmongers killing, stealing and corrupting in his name.

Alaskan political activist and science researcher in Anchorage, Nick Begich, networked with Patrick and Gael Crystal Flanagan, who are self-described TechnoMonks living in Sedona, Arizona, and was told to check out that same Australian-based magazine. Begich was surprised to see an item from his hometown in Nexus, and immediately headed to the local library to dig out the documents cited in the article.

That research led to articles and the book, Angels Don't Play this HAARP: Advances in Tesla Technology, which is 230 pages of detailed information on this intrusive project.

What HAARP does:
HAARP will zap the upper atmosphere with a focused and steerable electromagnetic beam. It is an advanced model of an "ionospheric heater". (The ionosphere is the electrically-charged sphere surrounding Earth's upper atmosphere. It ranges between about 40- to 600 miles above Earth's surface.)

Put simply, the apparatus for HAARP is a reversal of a radio telescope; antennas send out signals instead of receiving. HAARP is the test run for a super-powerful radiowave-beaming technology that lifts areas of the ionosphere by focusing a beam and heating those areas. Electromagnetic waves then bounce back onto earth and penetrate everything -- living and dead.

HAARP publicity gives the impression that the High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program is mainly an academic project with the goal of changing the ionosphere to improve communications for our own good. However, other U.S. military documents put it more clearly -- HAARP aims to learn how to "exploit the ionosphere for Department of Defense purposes". Communicating with submarines is only one of those purposes.

HAARP History:
The patents described below were the package of ideas which were originally controlled by ARCO Power Technologies Incorporated (APTI), a subsidiary of Atlantic Richfield Company, one of the biggest oil companies in the world. APTI was the contractor that built the HAARP facility. ARCO sold this subsidiary, the patents and the second phase construction contract to E-Systems in June 1994.

E-Systems is one of the biggest intelligence contractors in the world -- doing work for the CIA, defense intelligence organizations and others. $1.8 billion of their annual sales are to these organizations, with $800 million for black projects -- projects so secret that even the United States Congress isn't told how the money is being spent.

E-Systems was bought out by Raytheon, which is one of the largest defense contractors in the world. In 1994 Raytheon was listed as number forty-two on the Fortune 500 list of companies. Raytheon has thousands of patents, some of which will be valuable in the HAARP project.
