NKC High Among Newsweek’s Top American High Schools

North Kansas City High School will join the ranks of America’s Best High Schools when Newsweek publishes its list of America’s Best High Schools next spring.

The list represents the top 6% of American High Schools scored on Newsweek’s Challenge Index, which recognizes rigor in the classroom through Advanced Placement, College-level courses and the International Baccalaureate curriculum. A revised list came out this fall that added 18 schools, including Northtown. Of the 1,734 schools, Northtown placed 1,332. There are currently 14 other Missouri high schools represented on the Challenge Index.
