Start Smart Basketball
Gladstone Parks & Recreation is offering the Start Smart Programs which were created for children to learn to develop the basic motor skills needed to make sports fun. This allows parents and children to work together in a developmentally appropriate program and in a non-threatening environment.

This 6-week program is for boys and girls ages 3 to 6 years old and introduces the game of basketball and its skills of dribbling/ball handling, passing/catching, running/agility and shooting, without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt.

NKC Community Center Winter Wonderland & Coloring Contest
North Kansas City Community Center will host its annual Winter Wonderland and Coloring Contest celebration on Saturday, Nov. 20, from 1-5 p.m.

This year there will be many new games and activities fit for all ages. Crafts, balloon artist, face painters, and caricature artists will be part of this annual event. Santa will be on hand to hear Christmas wishes, and Mrs. Claus present story time. Games 2 U will entertain with laser tag, a mobile arcade, and giant hamster ball. Mad Science also will be at the community center for two shows. The exciting day will end with the lighting of the Mayor’s Christmas Tree at 5 p.m.
