No Tax Rate Increase for NKC Schools Taxpayers

We have good news for taxpayers in NKC Schools. Your school district is operating with a balanced budget and your school tax rate will NOT increase this year. On Tuesday night, the Board of Education froze the tax rate for the fourth year in a row. Thanks to smart refinancing of its bond funds, the District avoided a $1.5 million funding gap and passed that savings along to taxpayers.

In a time when the local tax base is shrinking, state funds are being cut, and neighboring school districts are raising their tax rates, this is a significant accomplishment.
