Complaint against Dhoni, Harbhajan withdrawn

Global Human Rights Protection Council -- has decided against putting India cricketers Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh in the dock for allegedly showing disrespect to the country and

Padma award ceremony by remaining absent from it. GHRPC president Arvind Thakur had stated in his criminal complaint to a local court that the cricketers were youth icons and should have acted more responsibly. The complaint had mentioned that intentionally ignoring national events like the Padma awards ceremony amounted to lowering the prestige of President of India, Constitution, sports lovers and artists.

Thakur said on Sunday that the decision to withdraw the complaint had followed sports ministry’s announcement that it would take action against the cricketers.
