Matthew Hayden is a sore loser?

Pace legend Wasim Akram has called Matthew Hayden and Team Australia "sore losers" for terming India a "third-world country" and said the Aussies always get personal when they lose.

"The thing about the Aussies is that they are sore losers. They get personal when they get beaten. It is all a matter of sour grapes and after going home, they’ve started calling India a third-world country.

"India is a superpower now; it is a hundred years ahead of Australia, which is no more than a village, as compared to India. You don’t blame sightscreens for poor overrates. Even Allan Border was critical of Australian tactics on the pitch," Akram told Mobile ESPN from Karachi.

Hayden, who had a below par run in the recently concluded four-Test series, Thursday termed India a "third-world country" where people around the sightscreen led to delays resulting in slow over rates.

The BCCI has also reacted strongly to his comment saying it was "completely uncalled for".

"If slow-over rate is your habit, why blame India for that and call India third world? We are a very prestigious nation and it was not a nice comment by him," BCCI Finance Committee Chairman Rajiv Shukla said.
