Afridi-Laxman Spat Under Investigation

The Deccan Chargers will launch an enquiry into the spat between captain VVS Laxman and Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi.

In a television interview last week, Afridi, who has a three-year contract in place with the Indian Premier League team, had said Laxman's style of play did not suit the demands of Twenty20 cricket and that Australian wicketkeeper batsman Adam Gilchrist would have made a better captain.

Laxman responded by saying Afridi lacked team ethics and that, as an experienced player, Afridi had no business commenting on the team.

"We have launched a full enquiry to establish the facts," the Chargers management said in a statement.
