A highly distinctive voice from the fertile Dutch jazz scene, Ab Baars brings an idiosyncratic creativity into combination with skill and knowledge of his music's roots. Though his music has been described as "joyfully obstinate", it has an undeniable and colorful catchy-ness that stems from its stripped essence. As an instrumentalist, Baars has been influenced by (among others) American Jazz greats like Roscoe Mitchell and John Carter (both of whom he has worked with). As a composer/improvisor/band-leader Baars displays all of the musical characteristics that have come to define the Dutch creative music scene: open forms, varied improvisational strategies, wacky use of juxtaposition, and an unwillingness to treat jazz—or any music—as a fixed art form. Ab Baars is an important member of The ICP Orchestra, the defining group of Dutch jazz.

Named as one of the 25 most significant improvising musicians under 40 by Downbeat magazine, Ken Vandermark has been a powerful and influential voice in contemporary jazz, both on and off the stage. He's the leader of dozens of bands and a valued collaborator to some of the most exciting artists working today. He's an important organizer of concerts and festivals. He also, at the age of 35, received the prestigious "Genius Grant" from the MacArthur Foundation. All of the (well-deserved) credentials, accolades, and associations sometimes distract from the most notable thing about Ken Vandermark: he's one of the most moving and powerful saxophone stylists working in the music today. His strong instrumental voice can shift from an oblique angularity to a comfortable and rocking back-beat. He is equally at home when swinging "in the pocket" or stretching the music to its outer limits. Though he has a distinctive style, the breadth of Vandermark's projects is a testament to his vital creativity.

Kirlian Camera

Kirlian Camera se formó a finales de los 70s en Italia. El lider es Angelo Bergamini, compositor de los temas, en su mayoria. Las voces han ido variando con el tiempo, al igual que el estilo musical de las canciones, pero siempre conservando ese "toque gótico" en cada una. El nombre de esta extraordinaria agrupación surge a partir del invento de un científico ruso de nombre Seimon Kirlian que sirve para fotografiar el aura de las personas. Para mayo de 1980 entraba a la banda Simona Buja

La primera grabación fue hecha en un cassette en 1980 conseis temas se llamo "Dawn", con la participación de Angelo (teclados), Simona Buja (voz), Fabrizio Chiari (teclados) y Mauro Montacchini (bajo). En 1981 grabaron oficialmente "Kirlian Camera"de sólo cuatro temas, el cual tenía una versión diferente del tema "News", aparecido en el cassette.
En 1982 se lanzó " "Pasing Masks". El primer LP de la banda se llamo "It Doesn´t Matter Now" de 1983, contenía siete temas, de los cuales salieron como singles en "Communicate" (1983) y "Edges" (1984), con sus respectivas versiones extended e instrumentales.
Para 1985, se lanzó el single " Blue Room" y en 1986 lanzó "Ocean" como simple, al año siguiente perdieron a la cantante original Simona y entró en su reemplazo Bianca Hoffman-Santos, con la que comenzaron a grabar.
En 1988 se lanzó el single "Austria", el segundo dentro del mismo año fue "Eclipse Das Schwarze Denkmal".

En los noventas se introdujo a la banda una nueva vocalista( que reeplazo a su antesesora) y tecladista Emilia Lo Jacono, con quien grabaron el tercer LP en 1991, llamado "Todesengel The Fall Of Life"

El mcd "Erinnerun" fue el antecedente a los dos albums de 1995. En primer lugar "1985-1986", y el album "Solaris The Last Corridor"

Luego lanzaron el disco en vivo "Elysian Fields" , le seguiría "Pictures From Eternity", de 1996. Para 1997, entraba a la banda como vocalista Barbara Boffelli, con la que grabaron 2 mini cds: "The Desert Inside" y "Drifting", preámbulo para el disco doble compilatorio llamado "The Ice Curtain" de 1998. Luego llego "The Burning Sea", de 1999, con un CD-Rom vídeo.
El siguiente disco fue "Unidentified Light", al año siguienteen 2000 salió Barbara de la banda e ingresó Elena Fossi. Realizaron "Still Air" y el compilatorio "Uno" de 2002

Covenant

Covenant se formó en Helsingborg, Suecia, alrededor de 1986. Eskil Simonsson, Joakim Montelius y Clas Nachmanson eran 3 adolescentes cuando formaron la banda durante su época de estudiantes universitarios en Lund (un distrito sueco a 50 km de Helsingborg). Instalaron un pequeño estudio en la habitación de Clas y empezaron a llamarse Covenant.

En 1992 comenzaron formalmente con la banda. En el año 1993, salio el disco "Dreams of a Cryotank", y "Sequencer" de 1996, en 1998 sale "Europa", en año 2000 "United States of Mind". En Noviembre del 2000 sale su primer CD en vivo de larga duración, logrando un gran éxito. En 2002 surge"Northern Light" . En 2007 sale su siguiente cd en vivo llamado "In Transit", grabado en conciertos realizados durante la gira presentación de su álbum "Skyshaper", de 2006.
