Aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! It BURNS, it BURNS!
Oh, I thought I had an affected computer but don't. Was just practicing. :o
Nice for the thousands who have had no problems with their battery but get a new one after a year or more of use.
Ugh, this is going to give my PC-loving friends fuel for YEARS.
Bud, you've got enough fuel on PC folks for dozens of CENTURIES so I wouldn't worry about it. ;)

This Apple page shows much shorter serial number ranges that the original MacRumors article.
http://www.apple.com/support/batteryexchange/faq/
So which is it? The Apple page has to be considered official, but the MacRumors article would get me a brand new battery. :p

Looks like it might say "Sony Ericsson" on it.

Makes sense.
Lest iGary mock me, I didn't mean "mockup" as in "iPhone beta," I meant "here's a generic multimedia phone to make the idea clear."

That's actually pretty impressive.
It really is. So much for all the people who thought the big deal Apple was making out of it was lame.

i like iTunes 7 but have 2 questions
First i bought some music off itunes which i notices is the Clean version of the album. i didn't mean to buy these its just the clean vs explicity signs are too subtle. Can i get these changed.
And second, What about the shows i already bought, can they be converted to the higher res. cos that would suck otherwise.

Generally the layout is fine, but this thing (iTunes 7) looks absolutely FUGLY!
Yea, apple had platinum, then aqua, now, with this release the've invented "Delorean." :(

You are not necessarily talking about motivation which is either conscious or unconscious. The objection to this idea of man - and other species, too - being altruistic without a licence from El is highly objectionable itself. Is it that you do not want to allow independent action? Where then is free will? Where are other faiths? Does the giving of alms by Muslims count for nothing, too?
No, no, no.
All good deeds spring from God, because He loves us.
Atheists/agnostics that do good, are just lying about their place with God.

Well... but at least it's not Apple's fault, because they didn't produce the driver. Therefore it's actually not a concern of Apple's but of the driver's producer's.
On the other hand Apple did include it into it's OS seemingly without testing it thorougly, and that is, of course, a concern of Apple's. So they will have to work together to get rid of that - and I'm sure they will - and I may be smug again. :p
It doesn't really matter if wasn't "Apple's fault." It's their machine that ends up being compromised and so it's their responsibility to take care of the problem. How they do that is up to them...getting Atheros to patch things is the first step, but then they could evenutally switch vendors, move to an in-house solution entirely if they aren't happy with the job Atheros is doing.
It's the end-product with a big honkin' Apple logo on it...it most certainly is their concern.

Very curious as to how you get all these cups. I keep thinking in my head that there is no way you are taking them out of the garbage, so my next thought is do you work at a coffee house?
I think it's a neat idea. Interested to see more.
Well interesting point haha These cups are actually from classmates and one is my own. It's going to be a continuous series using peoples cups that aren't from the garbage haha. I made sure to ask them for the cups before they threw them away :p

Is it just me, or a 24" iMac would've been nice to show on stage with whatever that "Showtime" thing might be? That would, at least, have made some sense to at least start by showing that.
Which means the september 12th presentation must be really packed with new stuff if they couldn't even announce the 24" iMac at that event. They've also bumped the CPUs on the Mac mini today, so that makes two updates on the same day too.
It's also weird to see new releases on a wednesday...
...why do people keep thinking it's so weird?
It was Labor Day on Monday. Apple ALWAYS has Wednesday updates on holiday-weeks.
Although if you're not from the U.S....I could see why it would be weird...

You would've had a machine that is only 10 percent slower than the new computers. Not all that worth it.
lol, who cares, got the extra 1gb for waiting. Are you unhappy because you got your prediction of "NOT going to happen, it's going to be next year" wrong?

Hells yes brah. ODST is my favorite game in the Halo series and I really like the ODSTs as a unit as well.
I really enjoyed ODST as well. I've used the ODST helmet for a long time. I used it all through Halo 3, and was glad to see it come back in Reach. The shoulders look ace as well, so that works. You should, if you haven't already, pick up Buck for your "Firefight Voice" in the Armory. Next to Auntie Dot, he is the best one. Some great lines.

Proof? Or did you just make that up? Also, this thread isn't just about the US, the trend is the same in every predominantly white country where blacks reside.
It isn't my job to educate you on the facts - Read (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_and_crime_in_the_United_States), focusing on the linked statistical breakdowns by ethnicity. You'll have to nose around to find all the data. All that the facts proove is that poor black people with little education who grow up in economically depressed comunities and are surrounded by crime are more likely to commit crimes - but are also more likely to be profiled by law enforcement and the justice system. Also, the data are skewed towards urban areas, meaning that poor rural crime is less well documented.
In other words, it is totally impossible to make any purely race-focused judgemnent from the data because there are so many other factors involved. The same problems arise when examining crime data from any other nation with a minority black population, or any minority population for that matter.
I'd rather live in a white trash trailer park than in a black ghetto.
Irrelevant.
They are both lousy, but trailer parks are safer. People may get into domestic disputes in their own trailers and call the police, but you don't see white gangs terrorizing the streets and having to worry about getting shot walking outside your front door after dark.

Well, don't put back your camera just yet. If I recall it correct, you never set any time limit when you made your bold statement about Conroe in iMac. My guess is that Conroe eventually will arrive in iMacs...and when it does... we do (sort of) look forward to your promised homemovie. :D
Technicalities. :D
I did blow it with saying that Wodcrests would not go into MP's, though. :(

A number of recent reports have claimed that September 12th (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/08/20060831122800.shtml) will bring an Apple media event with iMac updates.
ThinkSecret now reports (http://www.thinksecret.com/news/0609sept12event.html) that Apple's September 12th media event will also introduce a 2nd generation iPod Nano and an updated 5G iPod alongside upgraded iMacs.
According to the rumor site the new iPod nano will feature larger storage capacities as well as multiple colors in a metal finish. Meanwhile, the new full-size iPod will simply sport upgraded capacities at the same price point. ThinkSecret does not expect the long rumored touch-screen video iPod until but does expect the introduction of the iTunes Movie Store at this event.

Apple will never make a laptop that is that size because it would mean that they would have to take out the optical drive and make the computer ultimately worthless without a docking station. Apple will never make a computer that isn't fully capable from the start.
I agree with you that a 2 lb. laptop isn't possible with an optical drive, but a 3 lb. laptop is still possible:
(see the Fujitsu LifeBook)
http://www.pcconnection.com/ProductDetail?sku=6170351&srccode=cii_5784816&cpncode=10-28291577-2
I really think this is a possibility. And it would play to one of Apple's core strengths of late, which is making the most compact product in their category. Think of the entire iPod line, the Mac mini, The MacBook Pros (thinnest laptops at their size, or at least the 17" is).
I really think this will happen within the next year. Maybe Summer 2007 after Santa Rosa comes out. It would be a great back-to-school product...

Freshman Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) tested his comedy act during a speech at the Congressional Correspondents' Dinner on Wednesday night, taking aim at Newt Gingrich with an edgy joke comparing the former Speaker of the House's recent flap over flip-flopping on his Libya stance to his number of wives.
"I was happy to see that Newt Gingrich has staked out a position on the war, a position, or two, or maybe three. I don't know. He may have more war positions than he's had wives," Paul said, seemingly triggering more shocked murmurs than laughs. HuffPo (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/03/31/rand-paul-newt-gingrich-wives_n_843085.html)
Speaking of bad jokes, who wrote Ron Paul's newsletters in the 80s?
