Bell Prairie Elementary Earns “Green” Gold

The Green Building Certification Institute has certified Bell Prairie Elementary a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Gold facility. Bell Prairie Elementary School earned LEED Gold in December, scoring three historic firsts for “green” facilities in Missouri. Bell Prairie is the -
  1. FIRST elementary in Missouri to be LEED certified
  2. FIRST elementary in Missouri to be certified LEED Gold
  3. FIRST K-12 educational facility in the state of Missouri to earn LEED Gold

It’s also the second K-12 educational facility in the state of Missouri to earn LEED certification. (North Kansas City Schools Staley High School was the first.) Bell Prairie Elementary was designed by Hollis + Miller Architects and built by JE Dunn Construction Company.
