The Coen brothers' gritty tale for kids

If you want to watch a Coen brothers movie with your kids, the options make for a pretty brief film festival. "Raising Arizona," with its loopy comic energy and nods to the Road Runner, isn't a bad starting point, though you still might have some explaining to do about the whole kidnapping thing. "The Hudsucker Proxy" has that marvelous, wordless sequence in which we see the hula hoop take flight in children's minds. But that's three minutes out of nearly two hours. "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" Maybe. Provided your child digs Greek mythology and bluegrass music.¶It's not like Joel and Ethan Coen lie awake at night worrying about this hole in their filmography. That would signal they actually think about their body of work and the meaning of it all, when, really, once they finish a film, it's on to the next one. Self-analysis after the fact has never been their thing. ¶But when Joel, 56, took Charles Portis' novel "True Grit" off the shelf a few years ago to read aloud with his son, Pedro (now 16), the idea hit him that it'd make for a great movie, yes, and that it was a kind of movie they'd never done before.

Kenana Knitters

While on my daily browsing routine at Anthro's website some days ago I saw this expensive giraffe, I clicked and the giraffe was human sized hence the price. And I checked a bit further. It's made by the Kenana Knitters a great initiative born in rural Kenya. Kenana started in Njoro in 1998 wih the aim to help women gain some income using their kitting skills. They knit accessories, like gorgeous scarves, homeware and fun stuffed toys. I'd love a little giraffe! Beautiful initiative and stunning products.

The little crews in good company

I'm a big fan of J.Crew's in Good Company. Hand picked items fom iconic brands that the J.Crew people love  (or so they say) and want us to love too. Classic brands like Barbour, Ray Ban, Globe Trotter and many others. And the collaborations don't end in the women's department. Men and Kids don't get excluded and I'm terribly in love with the kids picks, not only because these are super cute but also because I'm a big big fan of some of these brands (I was a big Superga geek when I was younger and I'm thinking I might have to go back when the warm weather comes again!)

Zara has nailed this kids and babies collection, it's the perfect mix of grown up and cuteness.

El Tiovivo de Clara

I admire entrepreneurs, especially if they are women and especially if their business is a result of a dream. Alba is a Spanish mom and owns a party company.  A friend of her, Natalia,  contacted me last week (without Alba knowing it) to show me El Tiovivo de Clara (Clara's Carousel) and what they do. She gave me a bit of a background and I was immediately taken by her story. Who doesn't like good organized pretty parties? I do! Dreamy girly room

I think this is the first time I'm posting about a kid's room, don't take me wrong, I love kids and I can't wait to have my own someday, it just never happened. This one though is my dream kid's room, well one of them, all the details are so boho and the colors so vibrant, I could easily live in that room, little baby do you mind?
