Billboard Update

After a performance on American Idol last week, Katy Perry's managed to come back to the top of the Hot 100, stopping the seemingly unstoppable force that is Adele's Rolling In The Deep, which skyrockets up to #2, getting the Digital Gainer Title. Bruno Mars' latest The Lazy Song flies into the Top 10 at #6 this week while Jennifer Lopez falls closely behind at #7 with On The Floor. Ke$ha's also returned to the Top 10 with Blow hitting #9 this week. Two of the planet's biggest pop stars Britney Spears and Lady Gaga have both been ousted of the Top 10, with Britney's Till The World Ends and Gaga's Judas falling to #11 and #12 respectively. There she goes again. Taking her time up the chart is Jessie J as Price Tag moves up one spot to #23 this week. Selena Gomez has vaulted back into the Top 30 with Who Says hitting one spot away from its' peak position of #24 so far. Beyonce's new single Girls has sneaked its way into the Hot 100, entering at #33. Adele's gorgeous Turning Tables has finally made its way into the Hot 100 at #63 while Glee's covered version debuts at #66, along with another track they covered last week on the show, All By Myself at #87. OneRepublic close in on the Top 80 as Good Life sits 2 places outside at #92. Colbie Caillat refuses to budge with I Do at #97 while Jennifer Lopez' new promo single Papi debuts at #99.

Getting the Greatest Gainer title is Adele over on the albums chart as #21 remains at #1. I think this could really be the album that will launch her to a bona fide superstar. Glee's new unnecessary album of The Warblers debuts at #2 while Britney slides back into the Top 5 as Femme Fatale rises a spot to #5. Jennifer Hudson's new album I Remember Me is sliding down the chart quickly as Hudson falls to #39 only in its fifth week out. Jessie J is heading the other way on the albums chart, with Who You Are plummeting to #42 in its second week of release. Miranda Cosgrove makes a reappearance on the chart at #134 this week with High Maintainence.

Jennifer Hudson - I Remember Me live @ Graham Norton Show

It's album release week over in the UK for I Remember Me and Jennifer Hudson has taken a trip to the other side of the pond, as the album's title track is released as the first single from the album as opposed to Where You At, which was released in the US. None are as good as Spotlight but the UK is a lot more receptive to good vocalists so she might find a bit more success over in the UK. So here she is doing the promotional rounds, performing I Remember Me on the Graham Norton Show. It was pitch perfect as usual, and she looked amazing.

You can check out J Hud getting reunited with her BAFTA award below that Graham surprised her with below.

Sneaking into the Top 40 is Jessie J with Price Tag making an all-new peak of #40 this week. Rocketing up the charts is Taylor Swift and her new single Mean as it makes a new peak of #48 this week since it got released as an official single off the album. Jennifer Hudson continues a downward slip to #82 with Where You At. Definitely another one of the sleeper hits, OneRepublic re-enters the chart at #97 with Good Life.

Adele returns to the top of the Billboard 200 Albums Chart with 21, shoving down Brit Brit's latest Femme Fatale to #2 in the process. Jennifer Hudson's sophomore effort I Remember Me falls to #11, down 4 spots from last week. Carrie Underwood must be doing something right, after her third disc Play On re-entered the chart at #164 last week, it's now leaped to a phenomenol #73.

Avril Lavigne falls a sharp drop to #24 with Goodbye Lullaby falling 17 spots down. Ke$ha's I Am The Dance Commander + I Command You To Dance The Remix Album arrives on the chart at #36. Billboard Update

Surprise surprise. Guess who's #1 on the Hot 100 still? Yup, Born This Way still reigns over the Hot 100, with Katy Perry's new offering E.T. quickly gaining some serious steam, peaking at #2 while Rihanna rises to #3 again with the Airplay Gainer Title. After scoring another Top 10 hit a couple weeks ago with their cover of Teenage Dream, Glee has done it again, debuting at #6 with Loser Like Me. The Glee effect continues with Get it Right at #16, Raise Your Glass at #36, Blackbird at #37, Misery at #52, Hell To The No at #53 and Candles at #71. Unfortunately, Jennifer Lopez' On The Floor has taken quite a fall, falling to #13 this week. Hmmm, time for some much-deserved promo, J.Lo? Oof. In it's third week out, Britney's Till The World Ends dips from #9 to a shocking #23, while Selena Gomez & The Scene debut right behind at #24 with Who Says. Jessie J moves up a little again with Price Tag making a new peak at #54. How about a performance on American Idol then? Jennifer Hudson makes a move up to #89 with Where You At. Expect that to move even further up with album release week and a promotional spot on Idol. Christina Perri's melodic new single Arms debuts at #94 this week. Miranda Cosgrove's current single Dancing Crazy debuts right at the rim of the Hot 100 at #100.

Over on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, Adele rises again to take poll spot with 21 right at the top while Avril Lavigne's Goodbye Lullaby falls three spots to #7. Miranda Cosgrove's new EP High Maintainence debuts at an unimpressive #34. After a performance on American Idol, Season 9's Lee DeWyze is back on the charts with Live It Up re-entering at #96.

Billboard Update

Lady Gaga spends her fifth consecutive week at #1 with Born This Way with Cee Lo Green's F**k You trailing behind her once again. Looking to lodge her fourth consecutive #1 track from Teenage Dream is Katy Perry with E.T. rising to #3 thanks to strong digital sales, while Rihanna slips a spot to #4 with S&M but gets the Airplay Gainer Title. Staying strong at #5 is Jennifer Lopez with On The Floor while Britney Spears leaps to #9 on the Hot 100 with her latest single Till The World Ends. Unfortunately, Ke$ha's Blow has fallen right to the rim of the Hot 100, falling to #10 this week. Moving up to #18 this week is Avril Lavigne's What The Hell, trailed behind by Christina Perri's breakout hit Jar of Hearts at #19. Glee's invasion on the Hot 100 is led by Landslide, debuting at #23 with Do You Wanna Touch Me, Animaland Kiss following suit at #57, #62 and #83. Jessie J shoots up with Price Tag peaking at #58 this week. Bruno Mars' The Lazy Song rises to #72 this week, making a brand peak. Jennifer Hudson's Where You At finally makes its chart impact, debuting at #96. Album track Wish You Were Here from Avril Lavigne's new album Goodbye Lullaby debuts at #99.

Over on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, Lupe Fiasco's new album Lasers ends Adele's chart reign as Lasers debuts at #1, pushing Adele's 21 into second place. Glee's new Volume 5 soundtrack debuts at #3 while Avril Lavigne's Goodbye Lullaby arrives at #4, making it her lowest-selling album so far in terms of first week sales. Bummer. With little to no promotion, Ellie Goulding's Lights was quietly released to the States, debuting at #129. Even I didn't know the release was so soon. Rubbish promotion. Sara Bareilles chart-topping album Kaleidoscope Heart re-enters at #192.

Big News: Jennifer Hudson announces new single!

Seeing how Where You At has completely flopped in the States, award-winning singer/actress Jennifer Hudson has decided to approach the UK in a different way in the I Remember Me era, charging ahead with the release of the title track off the album. The Ryan Tedder penned-track is slated to be released early April and remixed by Ash Howes (Girls Aloud, Blue and Westlife) for its UK radio edit.

Well, I guess anything's better than that dated snoozefest of a single Where You At that is unremarkable for a singer of Jennifer Hudson's calibre. And the UK is always more receptive to such good singers anyway so here's hoping it hits Top 20 at least.

Jennifer Hudson - Where You At [Music Video Premiere]

Critically-acclaimed singer/actress Jennifer Hudson's music video for her brand new single Where You At just premiered and to be honest, in this era, you can't not mention how amazing J. Hud looks. But besides that, the video was really nice with lots of beautiful scenes and was shot in her home city of Chicago. Let's just hope this doesn't flop amidst the dance/pop trend.

Jennifer Hudson - Where You At live @ Ellen

The States' Adele, Jennifer Hudson, has been doing the promotional rounds to plug her new album and single Where You At and I Remember Me respectively. This is quite similar to her Oprah performance, except she did take things up a notch when she reached the belting part of the song where she SAAAAANG as usual. And she does have a lot more chemistry with Ellen than Oprah, where it felt more like awkwardness than anything.

Jennifer Hudson - Where You At live @ Oprah

The always amazing Jennifer Hudson graced The Oprah Show to sit down for a brief interview where Oprah kept cutting her (for goodness knows why) where they talked about her weight loss, her child, her music, and the family tradgedy that struck quite some time ago. She may have gotten a little teary-eyed during the interview but she took it to the next level during her performance of Where You At - the lead single lifted from her sophomore album I Remember Me. Needless to say, she did AMAZING. Check out her performance above and the interview below.

Big News: Jennifer Hudson will open the Grammys alongside many others for an Aretha Franklin tribute!

A superstar line-up that includes Jennifer Hudson, Christina Aguilera, Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine, Martina McBride and gospel singer Yolanda Adams are confirmed to open the Grammys with an Aretha Franklin tribute of five songs. They will open with Natural Woman, before each took on their own Aretha tune. During the rehearsal, Christina was first with Ain’t No Way, Martina sang Until You Come Back to Me next, then Florence followed with Think.

Jennifer took on Respect and Yolanda finished things up with Spirit in the Dark. The ladies then all closed with the Sisters Are Doin’ It for Themselves.

MTV was there to interview Jennifer for a bit and she said that "Rehearsals are going, and went, very well. It’s a lot of fun, and just being amongst the other ladies and being around some of my favorite artists, and then tributing Aretha Franklin, it’s just like surreal. And it’s a moment you just have to take in and enjoy it, and I’m like on cloud nine just in that moment."

When it came to song selection, Jennifer mentions that they were chosen for them. "I know that had to be the hardest job because Aretha has like catalogues of music. And I remember when they asked me to submit a list and I’m like, 'Oh my God! Where do I start?'"

Check out the video below. These ladies are going *slides into a Randy Jackson-esque claim* "to blow it out the box".

Big News: Jennifer Hudson's new album cover!

A newly svelte Jennifer Hudson keeps that figure workin' on the album cover of her upcoming sophomore album I Remember Me which has tentative release date of March 22nd. Plenty of time for the album's first single Where You At to impact then. But though I don't have very high hopes for the first single, let's hope the A-list collaborators (Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo, R.Kelly, Ryan Tedder & Diane Warren among others) can bring some shine to the album. Some contemporary, pop stuff. She does look amazing here though.

Jennifer Hudson new track: Where You At

Oh. Dear. I was really anticipating this. Unfortunately, I have to say I'm a little disappointed because it's one of those middle-of-the-road pop/R&B midtempo songs which fail to make much of an impression at all. What made Spotlight such an international success is the fact that it had loads of crossover appeal while this urban-tinged track is catered more to American tastes, therefore reducing its hit potential. It's not horrible by any measure, but is the kind of song you won't bother to Google should you stumble on it when it comes on the radio.

Still, it's nice to see J. Hud looking better than ever and back in the industry.

Big News: Jennifer Hudson releases teaser of new single!

Remaining one of the best singers in the game right now, Grammy and Oscar-award winning singer/songwriter/actress Jennifer Hudson is ready to return to the spotlight (OMG see what I did there?!) with her upcoming sophomore album titled I Remember Me and is set to be released March 22nd - a month dominated by Avril Lavigne and Britney Spears' new releases, with the first single Where You At hitting radio January 24th. The multi-faceted Hudson will have no problem though, as she has never been pit against those kind of pop princesses.

Of course, it's still going to be commercial and the singer has released a teaser via her offficial website. Granted, the short teaser doesn't reveal much about the song but I'm not expecting a drastic departure of the typical Jennifer Hudson music.

This timing also pretty much tells you Hudson's gonna land a performance slot on Idol's Season 10..

Jennifer Hudson - Feeling Good live @ Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve

Well this was random. Jennifer Hudson joined an all-star line-up at Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve to perform a cover of Nina Simone's classic Feeling Good. If you remember, fellow American Idol finalist Adam Lambert did the same during his season of Idol, but where Lambert's version was creepy but properly amazing (his second best performance after Whole Lotta Love me thinks), Hudson's was KINDA bland. She didn't rely on any vocal theatrics to boost the performance or anything. So all in all, the only thing you can pretty much conclude is that she wore a very pretty dress.

Jennifer Hudson - It's A Man's World/Respect live @ Mark Twain Prize to Honour Tina Fey

Looking fit and fab was Jennifer Hudson at the Mark Twain Prize to Honour Tina Fey. Hudson delivered a medley of It's A Man's World and Respect, and vocally, Jen was fantastic. I can't wait to hear her next album which will be out next year. Check it out above.

Jenifer Hudson on Live With Regis & Kelly

Looking fit and fab is Jennifer Hudson who dropped by Live With Regis And Kelly talking about her new svelte figure, shooting her upcoming movie in Winnie is South Africa and the new album, which was actually all I wanted to listen to. Apparently record label exec Clive Davis gets a bigger say regarding the songs to be on her album. To that, I say, WHAT THE HECK?! Oh Hollywood.. Nevertheless, she barely even talked half a minute on her new album when she was cut off which means she didn't spill much juice regarding new music on her album. Oh well.

Big News: Deets on J Hud's new album!

After shocking the world with her astounding voice on American Idol, Jennifer Hudson gone on to acheive better and bigger things, such as winning an Oscar for her role in Dreamgirls and a Grammy for her self-titled debut album. Just when she was riding on a major high came the tragic deaths of her family. She stayed out of the spotlight to recollect herself and Jennifer is back on her feet. One of the album's collaborators Ne-Yo says that Jennifer has come out of the ordeal stronger and I would expect a big ballad about empowerment and not giving up and another one that's sad. Nevertheless, the full list of collaborators on J Hud's upcoming album due for release in November has been released! Also, Jennifer has a self-penned track I Remember Me on the upcoming album!
