Camille Goutal's home in Ile de Re

In line of this morning's post I wanted to share how I came to discover Ile de Re and write about it. It was thru Camille Goutal's beautiful holiday home in the little island. Camille is the daughter of the late Annick Goutal, the famous parfumeur. She spent her summer holidays with her mom in Ile de Re, is a small converted shed and with the years Camille bought a property near by and converted it to this beautiful, easy going and incredibly comfortable family home. What a great place to spend the holidays!

The decor is a combination of antiques and, yes Ikea.

La belle vie at Ile de Re

Since I'm half Greek I had never really considered holidaying anywhere else but that's not the case anymore. The South of France must be gorgeous, Cornwall is what everyones thinks England should be and the tiny land of Ile de Re in the French Atlantic coast sounds like a dream. Oh mais oui. It's not like the South, or so they say, it's relaxing and slow. Paved little streets, jasmine scents, the ocean near by... très magnifique!

Does it get any better than that? yes, it does. It does if you stay at Hôtel de Sénéchal.
