The Staley Cross Country team invites you to wear black, or a golden yellow ribbon, to the Staley vs. Oak Park football game Oct. 28 and help them “blackout” childhood cancer.
The Cross Country team will host a Blackout Cancer Relay Run in honor of children battling cancer. They will relay a football from Oak Park High School to Staley. As the team enters the football stadium, they will make a loop around the track and present the game ball, with a golden yellow ribbon tied around it, to the coach or referee. The ribbon represents the fight against childhood cancer.
As the students enter the stadium an announcement will be made and buckets will be passed for donations. The money will go to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
