Sunday Outfit

This was one of those weekends I felt I did a lot more than usual, Ikea trip (extremely tiring), friend over for dinner on Saturday, shopping on Sunday. Very excited, finally scored the Cirrus Anthropologie duvet cover for a fraction of the usual price so happy happy!

And here is what I wore yesterday. I know it's not proper to say it myself but I love this shirt, why? It has tiny foxes, beyond cute!

And on my way back home, at Carnaby Street these stopped me on my tracks, pretty vespas, vintage, refurbished,very beautiful if you ask me! I thought you might like them too. My dad had a vespa until not that long ago, she was my age, shame he gave it!

This week is probably going to be a busy one so there might (might, it depends) only one post per day, if this happens, big apologies!!

These boots are made for walking!

Some time ago, the fab Erika from Urban Grace Interiors posted all her boots, I kind of liked the idea and decided to shamelessly copy it. 

From left to right: 
Black tall: From a shop in Barcelona in suede. I have been wearing these for a couple of years now. Very comfy and go with many outfits.
Hunter: Green for the rain. 
Grey metallic: these have been my to go boots for years, from the same store in Barcelona. Absolutely love them.
Black: Steve Madden, the classic one that many of you have. Bought them recently for a steal, like really!
Suede brown: from Massimo Dutti, lined in sheepskin, cozy and comfy!

A black cake

I love baking (love eating cakes too but try to avoid baking just for this reason). But it was N's birthday last week and I thought it would be nice to bake a cake over the weekend and invite our closer friends. I picked the Hummingbird Bakery recipe book and decided on the Brooklyn Blackout cake. It looked so yummy!! Here is the recipe if you want to try it.

Recipe from the book
Preheat oven to 170 degrees (Gas 3). Put the butter and sugar in a freestanding electric mixer with a paddle attachment (or a handheld electric whisk) and cream until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well and scraping any unmixed ingredients from the side of the bowl with a rubber spatula after each addition. Turn the mixer down to slow speed and beat in the vanilla extract, cocoa powder, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda and salt until well mixed. Add half the flour, then all the milk, and finish with the remaining flour. Mix well until everything is well combined.  Pour the mixture into the prepared cake tins and smooth over with a palette knife. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 mins. Leave the cakes to cool slightly in the tins before turning out onto a wire cooling rack to cool completely.

For the chocolate custard: Put the sugar, golden syrup, cocoa powder and 600ml of water
into a large saucepan and bring to the boil over medium heat, whisking occasionally. Mix in the cornflour with 120ml of water, then whisk into the cocoa mixture in the saucepan. Bring back to boil , whisking constantly. Cook until very thick, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla extract. Pour the custard into a bowl, cover with clingfilm and chill until very firm.

Put one cake on a cake stand and spread about one-quarter of the chocolate custard over it with a palette knife.
Place a second cake on top and spread another quarter of the custard over it.
Top with the last cake and spread the remaining custard over the top and sides.

Notes: There is a slight problem with the proportions I think. Waaaay too much custard and not enough cake...

Sunday Outfit

Hello lovelies! How was your weekend? I'm not looking forward to this working week to be honest, busy busy! The weekend was great. I baked a choc cake (post about it later), and had some friends over to kind of celebrate N's birthday. Also changed the "art wall" from the bedroom to the entrance wall. 

As for the outfit, here it is, going to the super market with my trolley! I'ts probably one of the most boring outfits ever, but that's actually what I wear 80-90%  of the time(like a uniform!). Jeans, top and cardigan (shoes vary depending of the weather). It was rainy, a bit, so took "advantage of it" and wore my rain boots.

Well I couldn't be more excited. This post is very close to home so no need to say much. Mas de l'Abundancia is a winery in the heart of the Monstant, a wine region in Catalonia. Hope you enjoy the little tour. I will show you the wines too soon.

Sunday Outfit

This was the first cold weekend in London. Mittens and hats would be easily welcomed, but somehow I feel it's way too early so I just refuse (and I freeze). Nonetheless it was a nice weekend. Very relaxing. We went for drinks on Saturday nights with friends and yesterday I went to the Kate Spade pop up store in London (more on that later).
I'm really enjoying doing these Sunday Outfits, I'll be honest, before starting, if I didn't venture it out of the apartment I used to spend all day in pj's, I know I know, WRONG (but comfy! don't judge) What do you wear on Sundays?

New day, new week lovelies! Hope you all had a great weekend and enjoyed some free time. I had a very good time spent most of it with my mum. We did the usual, shopping, lunch, cooking but was really to spend quality time together. 
The weather was glorious on Sunday hence the half spring(y) half fall outfit. Excited I got new boots too!

Jaymie Callaghan and me

Melissa from Oh, My Darling has a new series called Love, Illustrated and the first installment was my beloved incredibly cute couple Mara and Matthew from M loves M. Congrats Mara, I'm so happy for your engagement! The project is a collaboration with Jaymie Callaghan. Jaymie also collaborated with the UNTRIEDmagazine website and does a fortnight illustration called Today Illustrations. So after falling totally in love my narcissistic self contacted the sweetest ever Jaymie and here is the result! :D (big grin!!) Jaymie is a star to work with and I'm very excited with the result.

Kind of excited it rained this weekend, I got to wear my rain boots and stroll around. A rainy day is completely different when you are well equipped. 

The weekend was just as planned, lazy! After going to Paris last weekend with my company I felt like I had missed my relax days, I loved going to Paris of course don't take me wrong! So these 2 past days have been purely devoted to pretty much doing nothing. And in between nothingness I went to watch The Town and met some friends for dinner. Have you watched The Town? I liked it, didn't love it but found it interesting. N and my other friends didn't really enjoy it. Thoughts?

Hello lovelies! I'm back from Paris and starting the new week not as much rest as i would have liked but the trip was fabulous! Paris is with no doubt a gorgeous city with so much to explore and unfortunately a short weekend is not enough by any means but still enough to get the French flare. I will post a full recap later. And in case you wondered, yes there was still some time to take some outfit photos, they didn't come great for some reason but here they are nonetheless (I LOVE that I finally found a jean shirt!)

Sunday Outfit

I never know how to start my posts on Monday... How was your weekend? I was planning to do so many thing and finally got to do very very little, I hardly sent any emails (if you are waiting for an email back from me, I promise I will!) I didn't return some shopping and well... I didnt do THAT much... But  I had time to check Rue and loved it. I've heard mostly positive and all lovable comments and I'm really happy for all my lovely girls. 

This is a short working week for me, I'm off to Paris with my company and cant wait!!

Sunday Outfit

Well hello again! another week is here. Hope you all had a great weekend! You can see from today's outfit how much I love the midi skirt. Apparently the trend is due to Mad Men? No idea, but anyhow the ladylike silhouettes are all over. I bought this skirt not that long ago on sale, I loved it when it came out but couldn't justify the price. So happy I did buy it finally!!
