Poppies and Posies

One of the reasons I keep doing the My Stuff series (besides the simple fact I love doing them) is how many new things I have discovered. Last week Nadia mentioned Poppies and Posies, a New York boutique floral and event design firm. I checked it out and loved it. Their work is beyond stunning and absolutely inspiring. Sierra and Juliet, the owners, certainly have an incredible eye for detail and beauty.

The first Daffodils...

...are here, does that mean that spring is close by? It looked like it yesterday morning, but soon grey skies and rain took over again. Anyhow, these yellow little flowers make me happy and expectant!

The beauty of the flower (and my 10 Happy things)

When flowers are done well they are difficult to beat. I came across a stunning tabletop over the weekend, it was a wedding organised by the fab Jilian, and the flowers really caught my eye, so colorful and pretty arranged so I went over and checked it out. They were done by Rountree Flowers in New York and their galleries are just beautiful. I love all of these private events.

I love the mix of flowers, textures and colors of these wedding bouquets!

A Succulent oasis in LA

Smog Shoppe is where the wedding I posted earlier was held. It's a green oasis in the middle of LA, host of desert plants ( succulents hence the inclusion to my Succulent Day II) and vertical gardens (we love vertical gardens don't we?). An industrial event space filed with a stunning garden and vintage furniture, what a great place to throw a party, don't you think?

Succulent love

Today it's "succulent" day. I have always loved succulents, we always had them at home, we even had a big one as tall as myself. In barcelona there's even a succulent park, with huge cactuses. There are so many types and are so easy to take care of that it is worth giving them a go. Did you see that Carrie had a gorgeous arrangement on her coffee table? Loved it! 

One of the first blogs I came across before I even started mine has yes, please.  Kelly is an event planner, cupcake maker and succulent+flower designer. Kelly's wedding was succulent inspired, you might have seen it, if not, I'll post about it a bit later.  

These are some of the gorgeous creations. I'm not sure they ship outside the US so I can't wait to recreate my own soon.

Eye Candy: Flowers

Selfridges is my favorite department store in London. It's all yellow and has everything your heart might ever desire. There's also a great food hall and in there, there's an amazing flower shop, The Real Flower Company. These flowers are not regular flowers, they are designer and pricey, very pricey, gorgeous eye candy actually. I don't think I would ever spend that much money but I know people do and love it. Would you?

ps: I haven't seen one single peony this year, I even went to the Chelsea Gardener and no luck, but I bought some pretty succulents :)
