He was born on 2^nd of September 1964 in Beirut, Lebanon. He’s a Canadian actor. His mother is British and his dad is American, Chineese and Hawaian’s origin. Keanu was interested in being an actor and being a hockey player, but (thanks God) he chose acting. When he was 17 he left school and stated learning stage-playing. In 1986 he played his first bigger role in “Youngblood” and thanks to that a lot of movie makers started being interested in a young actor. The role which gave Keanu big popularity was a character in a movie titled “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” played by him in 1989. In 1994 he played Jack Traven in “Speed” and that role made him one of the best earning actors in Hollywood (the film earned 121 mln $). After “Speed”, in 1997 he played Kevin Lomax in “The Devil’s Advocate” together with Al Pacino. Two years later Reeves made a character of Neo in “Matrix” and thanks to it he became one of the best known actors in the whole world. For the role in “Matrix” he earned 100 mln $.

Keanu Reeves loves the music so much that he’s got his own band named “Dogstar”. Because of it he rejected the role in the second part of “Speed” – he had his concerts that time.

Keira Knightley

Her full name is Keira Christina Knightley. She was born on 26th March 1985 in Teddington, Great Britian. She’s a playwright and an actor’s daughter and she’s got 4 years older brother named Caleb. Keira chose to be an actress because of her dad and we can say that we have such a good actress thanks to him J. When Keira was 16 she left school and a few years later she got into the Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in London. Her movie debut was a television production titled “Royal Celebration”. Keira was 7 that time. One year later she played a little role in a cinema film “A Village Affair”. Her first bigger role was a character of Sabe, the queen’s servant, in “Star Wars – Episode 1: The Phantom Menace”. We can watch Keira in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” thanks to her role in “Bend It Like Beckham” from 2002. The character of Jules, who she played there, made her more popular in the movie world. Her next important roles were Elizabeth Bennet in “Pride and Prejudice” and Cecilia in “Atonement”.

I think that this young woman is one of the best actresses of our time. She’s different from others because of her beauty, style and acting skills. Keira has something that makes her more misterious and attractive than others.

Pablo Picasso

On 25 October 1881 a little boy was born In Malaga, Spain. It was difficult birth and to help him breathe cigar smoke was blown into his nose. But despite being the youngest ever smoker this baby grew up to be one of the 20th century’s greatest painters – Pablo Picasso. Picasso showed his truly exceptional talent from a very young age. His first word was lapiz (Spanish for pencil) and he learned to draw before he could talk. He was the only son in the family and very good-looking so he was thoroughly spoilt. He hated school and often refused to go unless his doting parents allowed him to take one of his father’s pet pigeons with him. Apart from pigeons his great love was art and when in 1891 his father who was an amateur artist got job as a drawing teacher at a college, Pablo went with him to the college. He often watched his father paint and sometimes was allowed to help. One evening his father was painting a picture of their pigeons when he had to leave the room. He returned to find that Pablo had completed the picture and it was so amazingly beautiful and lifelike that he gave his son his own palette and brushes and never painted again. Pablo was just 13. From then onwards there was no stopping him. Many people realized that he was a genius but he disappointed those who wanted him to become a traditional painter. He was always breaking the rules of artistic tradition and shocked the public with his strange and powerful pictures. He is probably best known for his Cubist pictures which used only simple geometric shapes. His paintings of were often made up of triangles and squares with their features in the wrong place. His work changed our ideas about art and to millions of people modern art means the work of Picasso. Guernica which he painted in 1937 records the bombing of that little Basque town during the Spanish Civil War and is undisputedly one of the masterpieces of modern painting. Picasso created over 6,000 paintings drawing and sculptures. Today a ‘Picasso’ costs several million pounds. Once ehen the French Minister of Culture was visiting Picasso the artist accidentally spilt some paint on the Minister’s trousers. Picasso apologized and wanted to pay for them to be cleaned but minister said ‘Non! Please, Monsieur Picasso, just sign my trousers!’. Picasso died of heart failure during an attack of influenza in 1973.

Although Clepatra VII was the last Queen of Egipt, she was actually Macedonian. She became well for her charm, intelligence and incredible ambition. Cleopatra first became queen after her father died in 51 BC, leaving her and her brother, Ptolemy, in charge of the kingdom. Soon after this she was accused to trying to kill her brother. She then started a civil war. At the same tome, Julius Caesar, the emperor of Rome, fell in love with her and helped her to take control of Egypt. Cleopatra stayed with him in Rome until he was murdered in 44 BC. Seven years later, the Roman general, Marcus Antonious, fell in love wit her. Soon they married and had three sons. Together they wanted to take over the Roman Empire. The result was a huge battle in 31 BC between their armies and those of Octavian, Caesar’s son at Actium. After losing the battle, they both returned to Alexandria, where they killed themselves.

Collecting

At some point in our childhood most of us collected something either it was chewing gum stickers of stamps. Who can deny the thrill they felt on finding an object which completed their collection after weeks of searching? It is therefore not difficult to under stand why some people continue to collect objects into their adult years. People collect all kinds of things from beer mats to valuable works of art. For some it is simple a way of spending the time, while others see it as a wise way to spend their money. After all there are some who discover that their seemingly humble collections are actually worth a lot of money. What may be a fascinating collection for one person though may be quite dull and uninteresting for another. Visitors to the Hanley museum in Stoke-on-Trent might wonder at the interest that led a local millionaire to collect china cows. He donated a large amount of money to the museum no condition that the cows would be displayed alongside pieces of valuable antique porcelain. Why others may not always understand a collector’s passion these people continue to feel that their hobby is worthwhile and very satisfying.

Children's Day

Children's Day is a holiday in many countries around the world. In Poladnd and other slavonic countries like Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine it's celebriting at 1st June since 1952. This holiday create ex-organization 'The International Union for Protection of Childhood' wich mine point was guarantee save for kids on whole world. But this fantastic holiday is not celebrate at the same day in every countries. ONZ feast 'themselves' Children's Day at 20th November. Franch equivalent is Family Day, celebrate at 6th of January. Japan boys feast at 5th May, and grils at 3rd March. In Turkey kids celebrate their holiday at 23th April. I think that it's my favourite holiday. At least this time when i'm a kid xD

Tragedy.

Two years old girl died in her mum car. She was locked there for 5 hours in full sun. Her mum is a teacher. She was so hurry for lessons that she forgot about doughter that she supposed drive to baby-sitter. She left her asleep in baby car seat, in front of school. When husband of that woman remind her about the kid, litlle girl was already dying. She died in a hospital, in day on her second birthdays. Mother will respond for manslaughter. Whole tragedy took place in Merate, on north of Italy.
So you can see that sun can be very dangerous. Protect your eyes and skin. Especially that today in Szczecin is 29 centigrade..

His true name is John Christopher Depp II. He was born on 9^th of June 1963 in Owensboro, Kentucky. An interesting thing is that Depp has got German and Irish origin. The other thing is that Johnny’s grandfather from the mother’s side was an Indian.

When Johnny was 16 he left his school. One year before his parents had divorced and he was staying with his mum. He had four women, but since 1998 he’s been in relationship with Vanessa Paradis and they’ve got two children, older daughter, Lily and younger son – Jonh.

Johnny Depp had worked with English rockband twice and they recorded two songs together: “Fade In-Out” and “Fade Away (Warchild Version)". He was nominated to lots of prizes many times and few magazines put his name on the lists of the sexiest people ever. His the most famous role is the character of Jack Sparrow, who Depp played three times in “The Pirates of Caribbean”. For the two last parts he earned $15 million.

Why do women live longer than men

Women generally live about six years longer than men. Evidence suggests that boys are the weaker sex at birth, which means that more die in infancy. Also women do not have as much heart disease as men. In terms of lifestyle, men smoke more than women and thus more die are smoking-related diseases. They drink more and are more aggressive in behavior particularly when driving cars so they generally have more dangerous occupations such as building work. Historically women died in childbirth and men in wars. Hence nuns and philosophers often lives to great ages. Now childbearing is less risky and there are fewer wars. The country with the highest life expectancy is Japan where the average age for men is 76 and for women 82.

Many clubs wanted to buy footballers from Upton Park. From the team went the best friend of Frank, Rio Ferdinand. His uncle and father was dismissal and Frank started seriously think about his future. Soon with his family decided that he will sign contract with Chelsea London. Hospital called patient who died 7 years ago

Hospital in Modena, in southern Italy called operation man, who signed up for it 10 years ago, and died 7 years ago.
Local press informed on Monday about gloomy record of negligence of Italian health service. Phone with invocation to clinic to set the date of operation answered the widow after man, who died in 2001 in age of 68 years. Representative of hospital informed in phone call, that after 10 years there was agreement for an operation of shoulder and now the only thing left is to set up the date.
“Gazetta di Modena” writes about indignation of family of man, who didn’t reach the operation. According to kindred relations, patient, when recording to operation, found out, that it’ll be done in 3 years, because waiting list is very long.
To orthopedic section of clinic in Modena reports patients from all over the Italy. It is considered for one of the best in country. Operation wasn’t qualified as urgent, so it was deferred all the time. Now though case was exposed because workers of administration were updating the waiting list.
Press says that hospital apologized the widow for this incident.

Are you planning a weekend on slope? Before you pack your ski suit and gloves, it is worth to remind, that skiing is cause of many accidents. Many of us run from desks right into the slope – and then return with unpleasant “souvenirs”.
- Skiing is a weird sport, which doesn’t seem to require big strength or abilities. Everyone can enter into the rental and choose equipment – says Steve Bollen, president of British Orthopedic Sports Trauma Association, surgeon-orthopedist in Royal Bradford Infirmary. – People go down the slope and when something’s going wrong they don’t have strength and abilities to handle themselves.
Tiredness, lack of fitness, wish of spending on slope as much time as possible, and increase of popularity of skiing weekends – all those things cause, that Bollen sees in the hospital more knee damages.
- Skiing is just created to break the ligaments in knees. – He says – Lower part of the leg is steady in boot, which is attached to almost 2 meters long lever. It’s not hard to imagine, to what overloads our knee is bringed under, when the ski is turned, and the ligaments won’t release. A loud crack can be heard, and another victim drives down the slope on toboggan.
Damages of ligaments – tissue holding knee – are very painful, they can require operation, and if they’ll remain without curing, they can cause a knee to never become fully efficient again. After watching over 200 patients Bollen came to a conclusion that the number of knee contusion gained with skiing have increased from 9% in year 1996 to 28% in 2004.
According to analysis made by Ski Club of Great Britain majority of skiing trips are 7-days or shorter. 28 percent of skiers say of themselves as “beginners”. Because in last year on skiing and snowboard went 1.3 millions of British we can expect, that the problem will rise.

Albert Einstein was born In Germany In 1879. As a boy he thought school was boring. At the age of fifteen he left school without any qualifications. However a few years later he continued with his studies in Switzerland and graduated in 1900. Over the next few years he did a lot of research in mathematics and physics. He wrote articles for scientific magaazines about his discoveries which changed man’s view of the Universe. In 1921 he won the Nobel Prize For Physics and became one of the most respected physicists in The World. In 1939 he left Germany and settled in America were he did research at the Institute for Advanced Studies. His research and theories were late used to develop the atomic and hydrogen bombs. Einstein died in 1955 in the US and A.

Bob Marley

Bob Marley was born 6th of February 1945 in village Nine Miles in Saint Ann on Jamaica. His father, Norval Marley was a white man, an officer of British army and his mother, Cedella Booker was a Jamaican singer and writers. 10th of February Bob Marley get married with a singer Rita Anderson.
Bob's life was active but very short. He died in effect of metastasis of a neoplasmic disease from lungs to a brain. The disease started from a foot, on toe of which was detected malicious melanoma. It was recommended him to amputate the toe, but Marley refused because of his convictions related with his religion - Rastafari. Bob believed that his faith will provide him an enternal life despite the neologism. He thought that doctors are just a liars, which pretend that have a power of sorcerers. He understood when he would amputate the toe, he might lose ability to a dance. It might finish his career at moment when he was near a great success.
Bob Marley was widely known of his devotion for his religion, which knew thanks his wife then thanks him whole world has known this religion. Anyway at the end of his life Bob approached to baptism in Ethiopian Church with his wife and 13 children. Then he got a new name Berhane Sellasj what means Light of Holy Trinity.

If someone doesn't know these songs I can sing them, because we sang them on our Engilsh lesson.

Marshall Mathers

Eminem (exactly Marshall Bruce Mathers III) known also as Slim Shady and before M&M. Marshall was born 17th of October 1972 in St. Joseph, Kansas City. He except being a rapper is an actor and a music producer.
Eminem grew up in a poor family. As a teenager he moved with his mother to Detroit, near 8 Mile. Someday he borrowed from his uncle a copy of soundtrack to film "Reckless" from that moment he's interested rap. Already as a little boy Eminem was fighting on words with his mates eg. Proof. After leaving school he found few jobs, which were bringing small incomes, however mainly he sacificed for a music.
His the first album Infinite, appeared on the end of 1995 and beginning of 1996. It seemed a completely defeat. Later in 1997 he took a participation on Rap Olympics in Los Angeles where he took the second place. Eminem gave the winner a plate with his records, which had entry in Interscope. Suddenly got in touch with him a known rapper and producer, Dr. Dre, which signed a contract with Mathers on a plate for a production Aftermath/Interscope. In the same year was emited an album Slim Shady EP. After one year Dr. Dre emited an album "2001", that in a half wrote Eminem and also appeared as a guest in two compositions.
For the production Interscope Eminem recorded albums: The Slim Shady LP and The Marshall Mathers LP. In 2002 appeared an album The Eminem Show and a soundtrack 8 Mile to film, in which Eminem played main role. On the album are also tunes of Xzibit, D12 or 50 Cent, which was promoted by Eminem. In 2004 appeared an album Encore, and in 2005 Curtain Call. In 2006 appeared Mixtape produced by Eminem: Mixtape-Eminem Presents: The Re-Up.
Eminem in thought as a controversial musician because of texts of his songs and videos. By others his texts promotes violence. In songs he offends groups of people (eg. homosexuals) or single person as: Britney Spears, Michael Jackson or even Georg Bush (in song "Mosh"). However I like him for this how he sings and his texts, not those of course, because he has also very nice songs. Well Eminem writes what he thinks and doesn't sort words. I like him because he can tells about himself really different things. I was surprised when I had heard song "Cleaning Out My Closet", where Eminem decided write about that when he was discriminated and heated by his mother.

Zinédine Yazid Zidane in my humble opinion the best football player on the world was born 23rd of June 1972 in Marseilles. He is quondam French player, which comes from Algeria. Unfortunately quondam, he's finished his career in final of World Cup in Germany (9th of July 2006). I wouldn't say that was his the best finishing his career, because as I think everyone heard about that when he hit Materazzi in 107 minute of meeting and got red card.
Zidane in his career played 796 matchs and shot 156 goals. His debut in national team started from two shot goals at match with Czech Republic 17th of August 1994. He is thought as the best playing in history. Zidane was brought to Madrid from Juventus for about 65 mln dollars.
In years 1998, 2000 and 2003 he was chose the best football player in plebiscite of FIFA. With his team in 2002 won desired Champion Cup. In final he was recognized the best player of final and his goal was recognized as the most beautiful during edition of Champions League 2001/2002. Despite his behavior at his last match he got "Golden Ball". This is award granted for the best player of championship. On the gala of hadning in for the best player in 2006 Zidane lost only with Fabio Cannavaro. Directly behind him Ronaldinho placed himself.

Jerzy Kawalerowicz is gone.

Yesterday went away Jerzy Kawalerowicz, great creator of many famous films like: "The Pharaoh", "Quo vadis", "The Deaf of president" or "The Game".
This was a very unlucky year for the cinema, except him went away Antonioni and Bergman.
Jerzy Kawalerowicz was born 19-th of January 1922 in Gwoździec. He was Polish director and scriptwriter. Between 1946-1949 years he was studying at Academy of Beautiful Art in Cracow and Film Institute. In Lodz, where he was only for one year he immediately knew how to do films. As Bromski thinks, Kawalerowicz's work can be clamly compared with films of Italian creator of neorealism.

Dear Santa, I'd like...

Bishop of Mira (present-day Turkey) was born about 280 year in Patara, died about 345 or 352. The one of the most worshiped Orthodox saints (called Santa Miracle worker) and also Catholic saint. He was famous as a miracle worker, saved sailors and saved a city from a hunger. Santa showed his courage and justice when he was saving a dishonesty accused clerks of a tsar on a death. According to legend he got a big property in a legacy after his rich parents, which gladly divided with a poor people. He was conspicuous of his piety and mercy. A citizens of Mira chose him as their bishop. To the present-day exists usage to give a gifts in form of a surprise, but actually this usage is connected to a fabulous figure of Santa.
