They ADDED a screw?? I mean, they drilled a new hole in the casing???
That seems like a crazy repair job if ever I've heard one.
Yeap, they drilled a hole in the center of the macbook and added a screw.

Yup, my iBook's battery is affected. Shame, it hadn't really run out of juice, even though I've been running my laptop 24/7 (lots of sleep though) in the year I've had it (running off of the mains a lot though):

If this works out and a Beatles iPod does come out with a commercial alongside I can almost guarantee you the song will be Revolution.
As someone said earlier... Come Together. That's my bet.

this is all very strange. there's nothing about the recall on apple's front page, and the recall page isn't easy to find.
I'm guessing that as soon as Apple sort out the recall page, they'll post a link on their main page and send out a "Hot News" page, etc.
I've tried entering serials for two laptops with their batteries, and both times the computer's SN was given the ok, but the battery didn't make it.
I'm just hoping that when they sort this out, my batteries go through, because one of them is totally dead. :P
www.apple.com At the bottom of the page there is a link saying 'iBook G4 and PowerBook G4 Battery Recall'

No kidding. So much for the "everyone already owns all The Beatles songs they want" mantra. ;)
The iTunes stuff is very good quality. I went and bought several tunes that I didn't have from the re-mastered stuff.
lady bla bla has some talent. you have to have some to get admitted to juliard and NYU. even madonna had a good musical education before she hit the clubs in the 1980's
if you haven't seen this yet, it's lady bla bla a year or so before she hit it big
Ga ga seems to be more , much more, talented that Madonna though. Madonna = tone def.
The Beatles: Four guys who needed each other, because individually they were musical infants.
No, thanks.
The single worst summation of The Beatles. Ever. You don't deserve to hear them.

I thought no one cared...
I posted this on the Decemberists forum and it also got mixed reviews.
Although I have most of their stuff, from first CD's released in '87, I don't have all the re-masters recently issued. Like I said above it is nice to be able to click and shop if need be. ;)

which is the correct? Why apple changed it?

Your logic is flawed. Why would the 6th generation iPhone be called iPhone 5? Apple just got out of the naming sequence and looks like will be following a numerical sequence now. It would be stupid in a marketing aspect to go from iPhone 3G to iPhone 3, as customers would like to see additional things in the name, not the removal of a letter.
iPad -> iPad 2, iPhone 4 -> iPhone 5.
It makes the most sense, and btw when people call it "iPhone 5" they're referring it as the 5th generation iPhone because it's a faster way of saying just that.
iPhone = iPhone 1
iPhone 3G = iPhone 2
iPhone 3GS = iPhone 3
iPhone 4 = iPhone 4
iPhone 5 = iPhone 5
In regards to the OP. I'm very excited about the iPhone 5 now, it seems as though waiting for September will be worth it if we're to see a completely revamped iOS + A5 Dual Core CPU + Upgraded GPU + 4" screen + NFC + possible LTE upgradability.
The iPhone and iPhone 3G have kicked the can update-wise, now it's your turn iPhone 3GS.
agreed.
apple messed up when they didn't call the 3G the "iphone 2" (which was actually caused by not putting 3G in the iphone in the first place, they had to broadcast 3G capability because there was so much moaning about the original iphone being edge only), we had to have a 3GS rather than "iphone 3" to avoid confusion, and now we have the iphone 4 (note how the iphone 4 is the 4th iphone). i doubt we will see them go back to numbers and letters again and they don't need to, especially now that the iphone is such a well known device. it's capabilities don't need to be included in the name anymore.

Clive at Five, you need to check up on your facts. Sam's kids actually have very little to do with the company at all. Other than making money from it, they are really not involved in the business operations/decisions of the company.
Sam's daughter got busted a few times for DUI. After the last one, she decided it'd be better to pack up and relocate to Ft. Worth, Texas and raise horses on her ranch than to stay in NW Arkansas.
HecubusPro, from Arkansas here. You from Bentonville?
Peace.

Hopefully it will come out within a fortnight otherwise it will be a long wait to MWSF :( I envisage just increased HD and possibly 1GB ram standard if it comes out within the fortnight. But if the C2D Macbook comes out MWSF there better be some decent upgrades! Maybe dedicated graphics card or at least the X3000.

Not of itself no - but imo a remastered collection will sell millions. How many fans, old and new, will shell out again to hear them?
really? I am skeptical.
Unless like I said a whole package with a very attractive price. Hopefully with a bitrate better than 128.

Because iPod Classics use a standard 1.8" ATA-66 hard drive, they can be upgraded with the right tools. I recommend getting one now and upgrading the drive later if it gets too small.
What about the iPod OS? Isn't it on the hd, like the Nomad Jukebox of that time? I had one of those and it was easy, if expensive, to find hd larger than the original already formatted including the OS.

They're in the refurb section on the apple website
I was talking about a new one not a refurbished one. I want to buy the core duo macbook after the c2d ones are released because i do not need the uprgrades and i could get a good deal. The core duo macbook pros dropped $300 so i was wondering how much the macbooks would drop.

Not at all. I've had predictions go wrong before, so this is nothing new to me. But it just annoys me that some people are so concerned with getting the best computer at the moment when it'll only be the best for a few months at best, and in the case of the MacBook, isn't even the best.
lol, people will always want the latest and greatest in this consumerist society. thats what makes america, america! if u dont like it, go to europe :p (im joking, plz, no one take offense)

The constitutionality of the War Powers Resolution has never been fully decided. The WPR raises serious separation of powers issues that the Supreme Court has not decided.

The very world/country you live in is build on greed, theft, slavery...and here's something new for you but your probably supporting it every day. But hey whatever you do make sure not to download anything you haven't payed for
Screw it i pay a monthly bill that allows me access to the internets...so in my twisted mind i believe that since i payed for the internets, everything that is downloadable is legit :D
so, because I live in the US I can't think something is morally corrupt?
That is an interesting perspective, especially since you have no idea what my political & moral beliefs are...

Thats no true.
Apple just a few days ago released Mac OS X 10.6.7 and was only 475MB, and the Combo update was only 1.12GB. Mac OS X 10.6.6 brought the Mac App Store and was only 143MB.
I don't know why your updates are 4GB.

I don't particularly believe this. I don't think Wal-Mart is ever threatened by anything except a union.
Yes they are. They are pulling out of both Germany and South Korea due to the competition.

In China the staff actually got their union.

I sympathise with lots of your points, but this one doesn't necessarily stand up.
Cost of an external hard disk to back up my entire music library (if I had bought it all from iTunes): Approx 40
Cost of shelving to hold all my CD's: Approx 200
I understand what you are saying and already realized that, like I said, I would love for iTunes to be my one stop shop for music, because it's more convenient. But their pricing is off due to such low overhead, that I shouldn't be able to buy physical media more cheaply.
My argument is has more to do with them not keeping accounts that you can access your purchased stuff from. It is more of the fact that I don't want to back up stuff 2 or 3 times over because if it is lost I wouldn't be able to get it again. Hard drives do fail quite a bit. I know there are circumstance of apple letting people download all their stuff once, but it should be something they would offer anyway.
Most of my original post would pertain to buying something like the Beatles Box set on iTunes. I could buy it on iTunes for $150 in digital format or go to Amazon get the real box set for $130 encode it in better quality if I desired and either throw the box set away, give it away or sell it for lets say $80, if I didn't want it taking up space. So it cost me $50, and I have the same exact thing I would have gotten on iTunes for about one third the cost (depending on what I sold it for). If you still think that buying that set on iTunes is the better value then that's fine. To me it just doesn't compare.
I didn't really mean to write a rant opposed to trying to make people realize that iTunes is not a good deal in many cases and they should not be charging what they do, but people are so blinded, it makes me wonder.
Don't get me wrong, on few occasions I do buy music on iTunes but I still think it is a ripoff because it is an all digital purchase.

I understand your point. I do, however, feel that Apple has more of the platform's long-term best interests at heart, versus the developers delay of a UI for 5 months.
If we're to assume the "Top Secret to prevent photocopying" theory, then these next 5 months are more crucial to Apple's development than the platform developers. Come January, Apple might spill all the details of the (currently speculative) Finder, and developers have from then until release date to incorporate it. Sure, it's a delay of 5 months, but think big-picture. If Apple's secretiveness prevents Vista from incorporating Leopard UI traits, it's worth the wait to make Leopard appear further ahead.*
*We all know this is a rumor site, but the above is purely speculation on my part.
I guess I'm just not seeing the point in keeping stuff secret.
I understand that Apple uses the photocopy thing as a joke, but in all reality, it isn't like Microsoft is stealing lines of code. The features that Apple has included are not necessarily original. They are just original as being "incorporated" in the OS.
Big picture, they should have spilled it all. The reaction to Leopard has already been rather blah. And so what if Microsoft steals one or two "top secret" features.
Time Machine - nothing new conceptually, just graphically improved
Spaces - A blatant rip of "Virtue" for OS X
Mail Improvements - I already have plugins that do most of that
iChat - About 1000 people have already pointed out a been there, done that for iChat
All of Apple's supposed "new" features are not as new as they seem.
I like what they are doing with the stuff, but right now they need to save their *** and give away some "secret" features before people stop caring.
