High School Schedule Community Input

As a result of shrinking funding for public education, a growing student enrollment, higher student achievement mandates, and the desire to avoid large class sizes, NKC Schools Board of Education requested a study of our high school schedule. The goal is to find a schedule that uses teachers’ time more efficiently than the current block schedule, and also effectively supports student achievement.

Three, well-researched, high school schedule options recently were presented for community input by the High School Schedule Study Committee established by the Board of Education. They included: traditional 7-period, modified/mixed 7-period, and 5-period trimester.
