Growing up I was always surrounded by people that loved fashion. My father worked in a factory filled with tons of fabrics from all over the world and my mom always shopped at the latest and not so latest boutiques and shops. However, seeing the way they dressed inspired me to have my own creative style. As I became older I began to dress differently, design my own clothes and even reconstruct old ones. My greatgrandmother and aunt were seamstress, they always made their own clothes and I use to watch them and learn .When I attended elementary school I began designing clothes for my family and friends. I would use old clothes, left over fabrics, and loose buttons and sew them on shirts, pants and jackets. At first I didn't realize how good I was until I attended Junior High School and began drawing and actually trying to make my own clothes. Finally, in high school my aunt bought me a sewing maching where I tried to take my fashion designing to another level, I applied for Parsons the New School for Design but didnt get in because I didnt finish my portfolio in time. But I still continue to further my dream into becoming a fashion designer knowing that I am an aspiring fashion designer.

The two key people in my life who inspired me , was my mother and my cousin. I could honestly say if it wasn't for them fashion wouldn't exist in my vocabulary.Growing up around my preteen years junior high school days where sneakers were like the highest on demand from Jordan's to any type of Air Force Nike those were the trendiest things. I was the caterpillar with fashion even up to this day I thank my cousin who inspired me as person and revamp the way I am today from tomboyish to girly girl. I continue the torch that was passed down to me by inspiring people around me whether is fashion, education etc.I just feel as though once you set ground a positive impact on someone it would continue to go forth no matter what. I more than the girl next door who like to dress up and read magazines. Fashion to me is abstract because it is subject to individual interpretation and taste. I live for fashion and the fashion industry not as a consumer but rather a student of the industry.
