High School Bands Win at Tournament of Champions

On Tuesday, Oct. 13, all four district high school bands competed at the Missouri Western Tournament of Champions. Bands competed in divisions based on the size of the band, not on school size. Winnetonka earned 1st place in 2A, and also won the best soloist award. North Kansas City, Oak Park and Staley were in class 3A. Staley placed 2nd, Northtown earned 3rd and Oak Park claimed 4th place.
